I would like to say hello from my first blog post for Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker. I am so happy to share some of cards and projects with you using Willow Bee, Victoria's Street and Flaming Butterfly.
I have always had a great fondness for nature, especially flowers and bees, so when I saw this piece of paper in the Willow Bee 6x6 Mini Pad I knew exactly how this card was going to come together.
I absolutely love Nikki's acrylic stamps. Every little detail stamps perfectly clear. In this card I stamped the sunflower first and colored it with my Copic markers. You can see the pen colors that I used in the picture below. I cut out the flower and used foam dots to raise it above the patterned paper scene. Then I stamped, colored, and cut out the tiny little bees. My favorite element of this card, though, is the stamped faux stitching. This image is included in the stamp set and was so easy to use along the edge of my background scene.
This is the cover of a little mini album that I will be teaching in a class during the Create N Crop Expo, in Perry, Georgia on March 13, 2010 using the Victoria Street paper and chipboard collection. I used Staz On ink to stamp an image on the Bread (less) Tab. The mini 6x6 paper pads are perfect for these chipboard albums. They fit perfectly plus the patterns are the perfect proportion for the small mini album. If you will be in the area during that time I would love to invite you to attend my class. We will be having a lot of fun with the whole Victoria Street paper collection.
My last project is a card using papers and stamps from the Flaming Butterfly collection. This is such an exciting and beautiful collection. I really enjoyed hearing the story behind the design of this line. When I saw the butterfly stamp I knew that I wanted to include that on my card. I stamped the butterfly in Versamark and then heat embossed it with black embossing powder. This gave me some borders so that I could flood them with Smooch paint. I colored in each section to match the butterfly on the patterned paper.
After the Smooch was dry I cut out the stamped image and popped it up with foam dots. Then the sentiment was stamped in black ink and punched out. I used the Smooch paint to color the outside scalloped oval as well to match the colors on the butterfly.
Please stop by my blog throughout the month as I create even more projects with all of the wonderful Nikki Sivils, Scrapbook products.
xoxo, Christine
