March Challenge - Come play Along

Hi everyone - Susan here! Every month we are going to be doing a challenge that some of our design team participates in for fun. We decided it would be even more fun to allow you all to play along as well! It might be a sketch, a challenge or something different all together. You will just have to wait and see!! If you want to play along as well, just do a lo or card using Nikki's papers and link here as a comment. On April 30th we will post the winner, and we'll send you out some goodies for winning!

For our first challenge we are using a really fabulous sketch that design team member Anna Bowkis provided for us. You can see it above. Now lets share some of the design team girl's take on it!

Almost Easter!

Hi everyone! It's Ria Mojica again, your blog hostess for today. We have barely a week before Easter Sunday, just enough time to finish up your Easter cards and other preparations -- like I still have to buy those little susrprises to put inside plastic eggs for our annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Here in the Philippines, most of our kids are on their summer vacation by Easter time and there's no better way to beat the heat than to go for a swim. Here's a LO I made of my daughters swimming in my aunt's backyard with some cousins.

And as part of my Easter preparations, here's a quick and easy card I made using my Slice machine and the Spring Design Card and bits and pieces of Nikki Sivils papers from different collections.

That's all I have for you today...see you again next month...and Happy Easter!

Earphones, Milkshakes & Shoes... oh my!

hello hello!!
Rae Barthel here, with my very first post here on the blog!!

Today I have a few cards to share with you using
some of Nikki's new products...
please sit back, relax & enjoy!!

First up...
a card using the fabulous new
"Dan the Record Man" collection!!

'U ROCK' card
I just adore the 'retro' whimsy of this collection...
from the 45 record adapters to the record players,
it just oozes fun!
I also used some Willie-Bee Alpha Clear Stampies
here to create my banner.

Next up....
the darling new "Will He B the 1" line!
I love the color palette in this collection, and I know that
I will turn to it often to create lovey-dovey anniversary and
date night cards!

'Happy Anniversary' card
Isn't that love note on the lined paper just the cutest thing ever,
way to go Nikki, what a fun & clever design!! love it!!
I also used the "Will He B the 1" clear stamp set
to stamp the "Happy Anniversary" sentiment.

Last, but certainly not least, is a card made from the
oh-so-cute "Ellie's Day Out" collection!!
Purses and shoes galore mixed with graphic retro patterns
and prints... such a fun collection!!
Yet again I used the collection's coordinating clear stamp set,
to stamp the sentiment on the card.

"Too Many Shoes?" card
Speaking of stamps, have I told you how much
I LOVE Nikki's clear stamps?
Getting beautifully clean & clear stamped images
on the first try makes me very happy!

Well, thank you for taking the time to view my cards!
Looking forward to making & sharing many more cards using
these fantastical new Nikki Sivils collections!!

Until next time...
happy card making!

Beautiful "Flaming Butterfly"

oohhh goodness...Its me Norma Kennedy hosting the post today. I must say I am super, duper excited to show you just how much FUN you can have creating with Nikki's Beautiful "Flaming Butterfly" line.

The colors are rich and vibrant and were just what I needed for this very special layout!

I had been saving these pictures of my cousin's for the right paper to come along. I luv them all dearly and it is so neat when we can all get together. As soon as I saw the butterflies I knew that I wanted to cut them out and add pop dots to them. Here is how it turned out:

I also decided to make a card using the round scalloped paper in the "Flaming Butterfly" line. What I did was..... I had a Kraft A7 card and I simply attached the scalloped paper to the front of my pre-folded card & trimmed it around the scalloped edge and along the top of the flat card edge.

I added a Cool Cord Brad along with a Bread(less) Tab. Wrapped some raffia around it and added another one of the cut out butterflies.
Here is how it turned out:

Thanks for letting me share my projects!
Have a Blessed and Creative Day,
Norma

Ellie's Day Out with Willow Bee :)

Hello Nikki Sivils fans! It's Nathalie here again and I am happy to be here today to share with you a couple of new projects. First off is a mini featuring the brand new Ellie's Day Out collection and the crown chipboard album. As soon as I saw this collection, I thought about my niece who is always ready to strike a pose in front of the camera. The funny thing I didn't know until I was done was that Nikki named this collection after her niece! Love the coincidence!
"Little Fashionista"

Click on any photo to enlarge it

I used papers from the 6X6 Ellie's Day Out paddie along with some die cuts from Ellie's Cutie Cut-Ups. I don't get to scrap girl pages too often and playing with these feminine papers, flowers and rhinestones was a treat for me!

Next is a page created with the Willow Bee collection. Again, when I looked at the papers, the sunflowers and rich colors made me think about the South of France, so I made this 8.5X11 page with photos from our family vacation there:

"Douce France"

I used Bee Food for my background, Bee's Cutie Cut-Ups for the bee accent and the clouds, the 6X6 Willow Bee paddie for the bottom part, a sticker from the Blue Bees pocket of stickers and burlap buttons to finish off. The journaling was printed on a sheet from the Will He B the 1 6X6 paddie.
If you are interested, I have posted a quick tutorial for this page on my blog HERE.

Last but not least, here is a page from Julie who won My Sweet Cherry Pie collection on my blog anniversary last month. She did such an awesome job with the papers and the corduroy brads, I had to share it with you!

That's it for me today! I'll see you back here next month!

Buzzy Bee

Hi there...Nadhrah here. Today is my turn to share with you my latest creations. I was really excited when i saw Nikki's latest collection....Willow Bee for the first time. I already know what i wanted to do with it. I got even more excited when i saw the pockets for her latest stickers. Yes, this fits my mini album! Actually both of my sons went to the kindy called Buzzy Bee. This is the main reason why i got so excited...i can create a mini album that matches the kid's school...bees everywhere. Hehe....

I hope i did give some inspirations on how to use the pockets.... Have a look at the pictures below..

Last but not least....i did 2 layouts with another latest paper collections....Bella Blue and Oscar Too...i must say the colors are really really sweets for my girl....i'm sure it works the same for you too. I'm kinda experimenting a little bit here in the first layout...using cardstock as my background ad i splatter paint all over the cardstock before i start decorating. I kinda like the outcome.

I hope you enjoy my latest projects...and till we meet again...Take care

Scrapbooking Outside the Box!

Hi all! This is Mimi, your blog hostess of the day! I am what I consider a layout girl. I tinker with cards and other projects but layouts are my project of choice most of the time. Then Nikki told me about this company Traditions Studios. I ended up designing a few classes for them using Nikki's fab products and now I think I caught the bug to scrapping outside the layout box.

They sent me this adorable snow globe that would be so fun to sit on any desk! Great grandparent gift too! I used lots of Willow Bee including the new stamps...how fun!

I also made this utility cup...using the bright and colorful Flaming Butterfly line.

We all know Nikki makes tons of fun chipboard mini's. I really had not done a mini in quite a long time. I had so much fun making this that I know I will be doing more in the very near future!

I loved the Dan the Record Man line immediately! These colors are so great! I used this line and her tag mini to create this album that I recorded some of my favorite photos in. I loved the play on works with record and record!

I kept the same format for each page...it makes for a great clean look!

I covered all the top pages with black cardstock and a strip of pattern paper. I then added just a touch of doodling with a white pen.

The backs were done with white and doodled with black. Each page I made a small journaling spot with pattern paper to record a few details about the photo.

Thanks so much for letting me stop by and share these outside the box scrapping ideas!

Pocket mini album

Hi all, Mieke here today with a mini album made out of the cool pockets of the stickers.
I've chosen the Victoria's Street line that goes so well with the photo's about our move from the West of Holland to the woods in the middle of our country. I've glued the pockets together, two by two. The tag on the front is painted with Gesso and sprayed with Glimmer Mist. Alpha clear stamps by Nikki's.
This is a wonderful alpha stamp, not too big.

These are the insides, simple style so there is lots of room for the photo's.
backside of the tags.

I used two color matching rings and lots of different ribbons.

Thank you so much for looking!
