Nikki here with Elmer's Craft Challenge & a bit more...

Hi everyone! I've been invited by Elmer's Adhesive & X-ACTO to participate in a fun challenge! The challenge is... they send me this wonderful container of product and all I have to do is make a craft using all this fun product! No problem here!! ;)

Look at all these goodies...  Thanks Elmer's & X-Acto!!
To win the challenge I have to create a project using Elmer's & X-ACTO products, but my craft has to fit my blog "type"sooo, we all pretty much know that it's going to be about my fur-babies since my late  Willie-B is my logo and company mascot! The winner will get to pick a charity of their choice to receive a $1,000 donation! WOW... A THOUSAND DOLLARS!! My charity of choice will of course be along the same lines as my blog and craft, Angel's Gate! This group is "Hospice" for sick & abused animals to live out the rest of their lives safely, as healthy, comfortably and happy as the organization can make them!  Dan and I have donated to this group several times and I've read her book and given it as a gift many times.  If you ever have any spare money to give to a charity this one really needs it, the care that these animals need is hugely time consuming and costly. (They also need volunteers too.)
Okay so now for my craft...
I created a mini album using my chipboard "Tag" album and my newest paper collection "My Friend Birdie" to make a brag book about my 4 fur-babies!
Love love love X-ACTO's self healing cutting mat! And its PINK!! Gotta love that!
Also love the Elmer's tape runner and Craft Bond! So easy to use!

Elmer's new Gel Pens ROCK too! They dry pretty quickly, which is a plus!
I use a craft knife all the time, in fact I'm not sure I can scrap with out one, and this new one by X-Acto is awesome & retractable too! No more cutting my finger tips!
 Here is the finished product:
"Our Gang"
Each pup got his or hers own page with a list of their best qualities.

I loved that I "had" to crate something for this challenge, I love playing with new products and these are great!! So not only do I have a chance to win $$ for my favorite charity but I get to give away some Elmer's & X-Acto product too! Actually I get to giveaway 3 prizes!! Leave a comment on this post to win all this:
X-ACTO:
4-pack Decorative Edge Scissors
Self Healing Mat
Retractable Craft Knife
Craft Swivel Knife

CraftBond:
Scrapbooking Tape: Repositionable
Extra Strength Glue Stick
Wet & Dry Dual Tip Glue Pen
Permanent Tape Runner

Wish me luck and Good Luck to all of you!!

Here is my "a bit more"....

Our Henry turned 15!! Holy Cow 15!!

I'm desperately trying to find a WONDERFUL FOREVER HOME for this Newfoundland, he's under a  year old or right at a year old. Dan found him while running one morning and we REALLY want to find him a home where he can be apart of the family! He's the sweetest dog... possibly that I've ever been around! If you are interested email me. (You'll have to answer questions and have a home evaluation from a rescue group from your town or city that I'd set up for you.)

I attended and taught 3 mini classes, along with my local DT lead, Katrina Hunt and local DT gal Laura Parks, at Scrap-a-palooza here in Springfield! The Scrapbook Generation ladies (my LSS) host this huge crop 3 times a year, the next one will be in January! Go to their website to get the details!

I'm an AUNT again.... this is baby J (Jacob)! My brother DJ and his wife, Tonya, had a very healthy baby boy!! I just love him so much and love being his Aunt Nikki!

My new big boy, Nico, has settled in and become apart of our family! We love him so much!  Look at that intense face! Love it!

Jill Yegerlehner, Stephanie Hunt and I (oh and Alfred too) all went to a scrapbook retreat, Let's Get Croppin, for a weekend in September for some relaxing and a bit of business talk on the side! Loved getting to know these girls even better and to be able to call them my friends!

Jill took this pic of Alfred and I. Just love that snaggle-tooth of his! Alfred will be 11-12 or 13 this year, not sure b/c's he's a rescue. Love love love him!

My sweet sweet Savannah, she's getting gray around her muzzle. Poor Savannah is the best dog we have and gets the least amount of attention b/c she is ALWAYS SO GOOD! Its the ornery ones that get the most attention. Sadly.  However she now gets "alone frisbee" time with me everyday!!

And this would be one of the ornery ones.... Miss Bella Blue! But she's sure cute!
Thanks for reading this super long blog post today!! I may have  over done it! :) Oh well!
Have a great week! -Nikki
Oh and keep your fingers crossed that I'll win the Elmer's Challenge, so that my charity of choice, Angels Gate, will get $1,000!!  Thanks!

Your project with the goodies was just so doggone cute! I wish I knew someone that would take the Newfoundland. We have friends that rescued two of them and I know they found it rewarding along with getting two new friends...

Angela L. said...

my goodness sweetie, you've had alot going on... First of all, congrats on your new nephew! "Happy Birthday" wishes to your Henry, I can tell that he's a great kid... Also congrats on Nicco getting all settled in and being so loved by your family... I love how you're taking charge of seeking a good home for the Newfoundland.... he's a gorgeous dog! He reminds me alot of our Smokey who's Border Collie Mix. I always said that I wouldn't adopt but that changed almost 3 months ago and I'm very happy that we did because he was up next to be put down due to our local Humane Society being overcrowded. I have to admit that it hasn't been easy for me to get used to such a hyper dog but then again, it's the first dog that I've ever had. So the charity that you picked is pretty special and I just adore your project, you're SO talented.... fingers are crossed that you win... What a wonderful prize pack but if it had some of your adorable product, it would then be the ULTIMATE prize, lol!

**and you didn't overdo your blog post, I always enjoy reading about you and your family!

Adorable Brag Book! I love all your fur babies. I hope you find a good home for the dog! I live in a townhouse w/2 ferrets and my hubby isn't a dog person or I'd take him. He looks adorable.

The new Elmer's products are all at Walmart. I went looking for my old tape runner refil and they no longer carry the brand. It's all Elmer's so I'm glad to hear a good review of it. Maybe I'll buy a new tape runner. Everything I have is liquid except for the Repositionable Glue Arts and they mean Repositionable!

What a great challenge. I agree with you getting to try a bunch of new tools is more of a treat than a challenge. Your brag book is so cute. I have just two dogs that run our life, can't imagine 4...afraid I would not give them all enough "loving and cuddling" time. I have not seen any of the Elmer products here in Seattle area, not even at Wal-Mart, but I will start searching. I want a retractable blade knife!!

Good Luck, Nikki, on the challenge. You are picking such a worthy charity -- we LOVE our 2 y.o. Great Dane/St. Bernard (Kayna), so I can totally understand your love for all your "babies". It's amazing how attached we get to them and they become such a part of our families in such a short time. Love your mini......thank you for inspiring me with your stories, projects & products.....everyday.

I like your challenge design sucker for mini chip albums hand-cut upon request. Of course the whole crafters line is pink and I am a sucker! I too must have my crafting knife and find people who do not use it often are very intimidated by the process...maybe for the Pink Scrapers, Green Papers event a store could bring an x-acto knife wielder who is very comfortable accessing

Jennifer Friedley said...

Nikki - these are great - love the pages. You do amazing work. I loved these products, especially the knife. Kept cutting my fingers last weekend when I was getting things ready for the Memory Expo - my husband says the blades weren't lock.

You Rock!

looks like the perfect project to showcase all the goodies with. Love the fur babies, I have no kids and scrap my fur babies also. I hope you find a great home for the sweet sweet found dog, all my babies are rescues and they are the best!

I'm so glad I found a fellow champion for the animals. I'm familiar with Angel's Gate having read the book " Getting Lucky " by Susan Marino. I created a layout based on the book and have since passed on the book to my sister who rescues dog and gives them a forever home. Scrolling down on my blog will lead you to the layout! Your mini-album has inspired me to do one for my sister to commemorate her past rescues. Good luck with Elmer's Craft challenge!

You made this project look simple (which I know it would not be for me, lol). The pictures were a wonderful addition to a visual learner like myself.
