School Layouts and Cards Anyone?!

Melissa is here on the blog today and she has a few layouts and a couple of cards for you.  AND one of her layouts is a very unique size! Melissa used School is Cool on all of her projects.  She loves the basic colors, the cut-ups and punch-outs.

"Enjoy Today Card" & "You Are My Star Card"
I made some cards for my two boys who will be going back to school soon just a little something to make their first day back to school fun.

"Picture Day"
This is my eldest Justin and this was his 6th grade school photo and what a great idea to do a page for each year. I added lots of layering and dimensions by using foam dots. My favorite is the school ID card and the cut-ups camera where i adhere the blue burlap button.

"First Day"
This is my youngest boy, Joseph, and this photos was taken last year his first day at Kindergarten. Lots of cutting and clusttering on this one and again using foam dots to add dimensions. The cut-up and punch outs make it easy for me to create layouts like this.

"I Know My Numbers"
Another layout using Josephs  photo from K-grade. I wanted to document how good he was doing at school and this one was when he did count and recognized all his numbers up to 100 and how cute that he gets to be the Number King that day. This is not the typical 12 x12 double page I usually do this is actually an 11 x 16 layout. Again lots of punch-outs, cut-ups and even stickers, and red burlap button on this layout.

Be sure to visit Melissa's blog for more fun projects, ideas and inspiration from her.

Also, we had some trouble with the PayPal button for The Bee's Knees Project kit.  It is fixed now, so head on over to THIS POST and check out the fun kit!

Melissa is on the blog today!

Melissa Pablo has three layouts that are all about layering and little details.  I just can't pick a favorite...can you?!

All Boys
This layout was inspired by Pagemaps sketch. I love using the Noah line for my boys photos. I love fussy cutting the stars on Noah's Star patterned paper and adhere them using foam mounting double sided tape for layers- easy way of creating your own embellishment.

Jylian
Audrey is just perfect for a little girls layout and here in this layout is the photo of my sweet daughter, Jylian. I do a lot of layering on my layouts by adding strips of patterned papers and again, using the easy cut-ups and punch-outs and adhering them with foam mounting double sided tape for dimension.

Giggles & Smiles
Another layout using Audrey line and inspired by one of Sketch Support one-page sketch. Lots of strips and embellishments from both cut-outs and punch outs.

Later in the month, Melissa will have an amazing mini album using the Exit Here collection, you aren't going to want to miss that.  Be sure to give Melissa's blog a visit also.  You can find her here.

Welcome Mary Pat Siehl as our May Guest Designer

Give a big welcome to our May Guest Diva, Mary Pat Siehl.  Mary Pat is a long-time fan of Nikki Sivils and has competed in some of our challenges and posts projects to our Facebook wall.

My name is Mary Pat Siehl and I am a scrap-oholic!  I am married to a wonderful husband who totally supports by scrap addiction. I have two wonderful sons who keep me totally stocked in pictures for a lifetime.  By day I am a teacher.  I am in my 23rd year of teaching high school Spanish.    I have been scrapping for over 10 years.  I love all aspects of paper crafting.  I love making layouts, cards, mini albums and altered items.  My love for scrapping has led me to teaching monthly classes as my local scrapbook store.  Being a guest for Nikki Sivils is a dream come true.  I totally love Nikki's collections.

Mary was so excited about being the Guest Diva that she created a bunch of fun projects for her posting!  She worked with the Messages and Noah collection kits.  She has layouts, cards, and altered projects to share with you.

First up with Messages, she did an altered dry erase message board...how fun!

My family is always heading in different directions and our old message board broke.
I made a new dry erase message board so that our family could keep our schedules and messages straight.  For this fun home decor piece I just used an old picture frame and created the insert piece to 8x10.  Because the frame is glass it can be used as
a dry erase board.

The message board started out  holding our schedule for the day but it has turned into a board for me to write a message to my boys in the morning.  I leave the house at 5:50 every morning to go to work.  My boys are not up yet so I don't get to see them.  I started using this board to write a special message for them each morning.  My oldest son is just starting to read so he reads the message to his brother.  It sits on our kitchen table.  I love how excited they are for the new message!

And then next we have a card.....

I loved all the cute little "pockets" with the messages.

Mary had a lot of fun with the Noah collection also. Let's look at a couple of  layouts first.

My youngest son loves riding his motorcycle and this is a photo of him.  Right now I am really loving all the banners and the different ways that they can be used.

I like to include memorabilia on my layouts whenever possible.  So when we went to our first Monster Truck show I wanted to save the ticket to include on my layout.  I think it is a fun way to embellish the page.

Then she has some fun Father's Day ideas!

She created this cute little gift bag/card set!

Sometimes masculine cards and gift wrapping can be hard but the Noah collection is so versatile and just perfect for a gift bag and card that my boys will give to their father.

And last, but certainly not least, she created a fun card for her husband!

I can't throw away any scraps from Nikki's paper collections so I used EVERY single piece.  This is cute card that I made for my husband on father's day.  Again the line is just perfect for little boys to big "boys"

I want to that Nikki for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be the guest Design Team Member for this month.  It has been a real honor!
Thanks again!

We want to thank Mary Pat for being our guest this month.  She created some fun projects for us and gave some great ideas of things to do for Father's Day!

Be sure to visit Mary Pat's blog.....

And let us know which of her projects are your favorite and I will pick a random comment to win either a Messages or Noah collection kit of their choosing. We will announce the winner on Monday, May 21st here on the blog.

First Wednesday with Melanie!

Melanie Jarocki is here today with a couple of fun layouts using the Sketches for Scrapbooking books.  (note...I will have more information about this on tomorrow's post!)

 Trouble
(using the Noah Collection)

I used a Sketch Support design for this layout. Originally, it was a two-page sketch but I only used the left side of the sketch for this single page. The journaling is hidden in the "About This Boy" card, tucked behind the photo. I used Maraschino twine from the The Twinery for extra accents on the page.

Basement
(using the Exit Here collection)

Two-page layouts are my favorite. So the Sketch Support book is awesome for me! I used the Exit Here collection for this fun page about my kids enjoying their grandparents' basement.  For extra dimension and detail on the page, I stitched between the photographs. I also added a little grass fringe to the house cut-out.

Be sure to visit Melanie's blog for more great layouts and projects!  And before I forget I need to announce the winners from the Glue Arts Cross Promo swap!

For Thursday....

Glue Arts Swap Day TWO!

We are so excited to be blog swapping again today  with the talented Glue Arts Blog today!  If you aren't familiar with Glue Arts, they are, you guessed it...an adhesive company with some fun products.  Check out their full line at their website HERE.

Our designers were sent a ton of fun product to work with and I think I can say that everyone on the team loved the products.

Make sure and check out our blog and comment each day (yesterday and today).  You want to do the same thing over on the Glue Arts Blog also.  We will be giving away a collection kit a day to a lucky commenter who comments on BOTH blogs!  And Glue Arts has a prize for you on their blog!

Let's get the party started AGAIN!  The Divas rocked the adhesive yesterday and today is no exception to that either!

First up is Julie Tucker-Woleck with a layout using the Noah collection.

I loved using the Glider Pro on this layout - With all the smaller photos I used of my son, it made it so much easier to manage!

And Jodi Wilton used the Messages collection for this sweet, sweet layout!

I love to add dimension to all my projects, and GLUE ARTS Raisen's are perfect for me to get the look I need I any project! For this layout, I used them under the hearts, the strip of hearts and the flower that I fussy cut.  Also the Pro Glue Glider is the perfect adhesive for your patterned paper, and photos!!  The PermaTac mini Adhesive Squares were the perfect touch for adhering the twine and the button to the patterned paper!

Sarah Eclavea has a couple of very cute cards for her Glue Arts projects!!

The bright colors in the Audrey collection make perfect spring cards! I used the glue arts Glue Glider Pro to adhere all the patterned paper to my cards. I then hand cut or punched some embellishments and used the Raise n's and U cut It foam adhesives. I love the combo pack with both of these adhevises in it! Makes it so easy to mix and match different types of adhesive on the same project.

Marielle LeBlanc used the Noah collection to make this so sweet altered frame!

I used an inexpensive 5x7 wood frame from Michael's for this project.I adhered the papers with the Glue Glidder Pro and everything else with the 3D foam, I like that I could cut the foam the size I needed for each element of this little boy frame.

And finally, Melissa Pablo has a cute layout about taking a road trip!

If you want to do fast and easy layouts choosing and using the right glue makes a difference. For this layout  I choosed to use GLUE ARTS GlueGlider Pro and love, love it! I also used the GLUE ARTS 3D Combo Pac for some dimensions. I used the EXIT HERE line, some of the cute NS burlap buttons, twine, and NS alpha stickers.

That is all our projects that the Divas have for you today.  AND don't forget to comment on this blog posting today and the one yesterday and also over at Glue Arts.  We will be giving away a collection kit to one lucky commenter from each day!
