Due to a fever and a very sore thoat....

I've been able to do a little scrappin' along with a little work too! I made this card for my mom's b-day on the 8th of July, and I made her a layout about her dog, Molly! (That dog is out of control by the way, but they love her.) And I made one for me about my shoes!! (I'm lovin' this size too, 6x12) I used my papers from "My Sweet Cherry Pie" my corduroy brads, bread(less) tabs and stamps too; Heidi Swapp chipboard letters, Am Crafts Rub-ons, May Arts ribbons, and my new found TOY.... TIM HOLTZ TINY ATTACHER!! Okay if you don't have one it's a must!!!!! It works great, and is perfect for all ribbon sizes, but perfect for smaller ribbon. I've used it so much I ran out of the tiny attachers in less than one week!! I even emailed Tim and told him I was in love with that thing!!! Go get one you won't be disappointed!! Seriously!! Oh and I used Tim Holtz Dabber paint too and it's wonderful also and so easy with no clean up!!

A few random things.....

First of all I renamed "In-Practical Lilith" to "Lily Bug"!! She needed a bright shiny name, and Lily Bug fit the bill. (I only got to drive her twice today, but it was sure fun!!)

Secondly, one of my friends, Lori, who owns and designs her own really cool clear stamp company, Clear Dollar Stamp, bought all of my first two paper lines to sell on her online store!!! Yippy!!!!! So very sweet of her!! BTW her clear stamps ROCK!! You can check it out on the link posted below.

Now, this is a great story... a friend of mine from Jr High contacted me on Facebook when I had made an entry about the start up of my scrapbook company. Hi Kendra!! A CUTE LITTLE BUG....... isn't cute!!!! CUTE AS A BUG IN A RUG!!! Hmmmm.... that would be a good layout for my girl!! heehee! Well we've had one car for a couple of months and it was time to get another one and I've been trying to convince my DH that this car is the perfect car, and he wasn't convinced!!
But, he gave in!!! We went to test drive it and I of course fell head over heals in love and he just shook his head!! He knew he had to give in. (He even drove it once today.) Anyway that's all for now, just wanted to show off Lilith, that's her name, but my DH named her "In-practical Lilith"!!

CHA Summer 2009 Sneak Peeks...

Here are all my papers for "Victoria's Street" and "My Sweet Cherry Pie". These are two of the six lines that I'm debuting at CHA this summer! I've been receiving many orders for these two paper lines already; they've been quite a hit so far!! YAY!!!!!! I hope you all will love them too!! I have been shipping literally all over the world! Brick and morter and online stores are already selling both of these paper lines and some of my other products like, clear stamps, brads and 6x6 mini pads,and more will be selling them soon. (I'll link you all to some of their sites when they start selling them.) Also I'm very excited because Ali Davis, Creating Keepsakes Dream Team Gal, Hall of Famer, and Scrapbooker of the Year finalist, is using "MY SWEET CHERRY PIE" in her July "Hall of Fame Kit of the Month Club"!!!! Shipping and I got to play a little on Saturday....

This is our sweet Caitlin that has been working for us this summer. She helped me get all the DT packages out ..... here they are on the couch waiting to be shipped!!!
This layout I did of Henry, my Step-son!! I scrap-lifted it off of a Kristina Contes layout, I've always loved her work!! I think she rocks... I would love to see what she could do with my papers!! ( So everything on this l/o is made by using my products expect the bracket: Pebbles Inc, the rhinestone brads are unknown.)
I made this for my DH, Daniel.... for Father's Day. Everything is made with my papers except the frame: American Crafts, and the blue dot is by Pebbles Inc., and the blue chipboard letters are by Hedi Swapp.
I did this l/o last night and I have to say I totally scrap-lifted Jennifer Matott's technique, one of my DT ladies, she folded up the scallop edges of her l/o like I did below and I loved it!!! So I tried it last night... thanks for the tip Jen!! Here is her blog: Jennifer Matott

Scrap-a-Palooza......

I went to Scrap-a-Palooza this last Saturday that Scrapbook Generations put together from 9-10pm!! I had so much fun!! I gave away two door prizes from my paper lines, and was introduced for the first time as "Nikki" from "Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker LLC. The DJ from one of our local radio station introduced me and asked me some questions about my company.
The ladies from Scrapbook Generations set up a VERY nice sign on a table with my products that they bought for Scrap-a-Palooza!! Thanks so much ladies!! Here is their blog with more pics http://www.scrapbookgeneration.blogspot.com/

And the chocolate fountains.... with fruit, cookies, marshmallow and did I mention CHOCOLATE!! What a treat this was, for four hours this chocolate ran while we scrapped and ate!! All the food was great, homemade bread, rolls, and the chicken was fantastic!!! And they served 200 plus ladies!!! I am overwhelmed....

with the amount of Design Team submissions I'm receiving!! (35 submissions in just 3 hours today! WOW!!) There are some ROCKIN' good scrapbookers, card makers and paper crafters from all over the world!! I started going through the submissions one at a time Friday night for about 4 hours, then again on Saturday for about 6 hours with the help of some in house ladies, and now today, Sunday, I'm working on it again. I have know idea how I'm going to pick and choose when everyone is so good!! Soooo I've decided to have a domestic and an international DT!! I haven't decided on how many designers for each team yet, but I will very soon!!
You all have about 4 hours left to submit and I can't wait to announce who will be "Willie-B's Design Team" next week!!

First time Design Team call!!

I’m looking for at least 6 talented lovely ladies or gentlemen (I know there are some great guys out there that SB, I’ve seen your work) to be a part of my design team!! You’ll actually be called “Willie-B’s Lead Designers”. I’m debuting my company at CHA this summer in Orlando and I need some great designers to show off my products and your great designs.

(Every 4 months the design team will be reevaluated)

We’ll be debuting our 6 paper lines, clear stamps, brads, flocked chipboard letters, chipboard mini albums and several other embellishments. You can view a sneak peek of my first paper line, “My Sweet Cherry Pie” posted below this post.

Previous publication and design team experience is not required; we’ll be looking at your style and compatibility with our products.

*Submissions will start now through June 7th, 2009 at Midnight CST. We will notify “Willie-B’s Lead Designers” by Wednesday June 10th. We will announce the new designers on our blog and website by Friday June the 12th 2009. *No restrictions regarding you serving other design teams, publications, kit clubs etc.

REQUIREMENTS FOR JOINING WILLIE-B’S DESIGN TEAM: YOU WILL BE SENT A PACKAGE OF OUR LATEST PAPERS AND PRODUCTS MONTHLY TO DESIGN LAYOUTS, CARDS AND PAPER PROJECTS AND SUBMIT GOOD QUALITY DIGITAL IMAGES OF THE FOLLOWING MONTHLY:
1. Any size, one or two page layouts;
2. A card; and/or
3. A paper project.

Each month you will be asked to submit:

1. A blog entry for Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker blog;
2. Each design team member will be asked to host a project or challenge on Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker blog at least once during their time with our company;
3. Leave comments and have active community participation on Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker gallery and blog;
4. Each design team member will be asked to post at least one comment a month on their own blog and have a link from their blog to nikkisivils.com;
5. Design team member will also need to be active on the gallery at nikkisivils.com, by uploading new layouts, cards, or projects monthly; and
6. You must agree that some of your Layouts, cards, projects etc will be sent to Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker LLC for display at CHA and or photography. (It may take up to 6 months for them to be returned to you.)

Your designs are your property and you will receive credit for them; we retain all rights to use your design as well as your picture in any name we choose, and any submitted writings in any name we choose.

Willie-B’s designers will be compensated with a complete bio and picture on Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker website and blog; you will receive paper and products we will want you to use for samples on our website and blog, with full credit to you.

1. In a single paragraph tell us about your scrapbooking style and a little bit about you too!
2. Please send a recent photo of you and a link to your blog and any online galleries in which you participate (include your user name or screen name).

*A single or double page layout about yourself;
*A card or paper project; and
*And any layout that shows your true scrapbooking style that you love and want us to see.
4. Send us a link to one of your online galleries or from your blog of a mini album that you have made. (It can be about anything.)

I left out one double sided paper from the line because it is unique and I want it to be top secret for a few more weeks!! Once my website is completed I will add this line and others to it. I have created a total of 6 paper lines, each having 4 double-sided and 1 scalloped paper.
We had a great time at the printers in Utah.... it was an 18 hour day and I got to see all of my papers printed! I'll post pictures of that trip later b/c I now have to finish writing my design team call!!!!!! I'll post it tomorrow, Sunday May the 24th!!

Going to do my 1st press check w/ my hubby!!

We fly out tomorrow to do our first press check on all our scrapbook papers!!! I'm so excited I can hardly wait!!!!!!!!! Hope we can bring some home with us so I can play with my very own scrapbook papers! How cool would that be!!!

There's No Place Like Home!

I did this layout about my dad and I and our rough relationship over the years. Not really anyone's fault just the product of a divorce. But, it's better now and growing over time. I always wanted to be a "daddy's girl" and craved that relationship, but miles of separation and not getting to spend a lot of time together hurts everyone. Anyway this l/o is about my thoughts on us! -Nikki

Alex...

This is Alex, she became my niece last fall. She's a real cutie-pie and handful, but a lot of fun!! I did this l/o celebrating my brothers engagement to her momma, and I becoming her new Aunt Nikki!! (This all Jenni Bowlin products and Bazzill cardstock.) Love those bingo cards.

Paper Proofs, and a little more......

My second round of paper proofs are here and after some adjusting and changing some little things that no one would catch but me, I'm finally done!! All 6 paper lines will go to press May 21st!! I'm going out to the printers to do my first "press check" and I'll be holding my breath until then, actually until they all arrive safe and sound in my hands. Then I'll be holding my breath all the way to CHA this summer!! Soon I'll give a small sneak peek here on my blog.
We've been working like crazy on the 6x6 mini paper pads right now, I get those proofs tomorrow. I can't wait to see them, I love small anything, and smaller full versions of my papers in little mini pads make me very HAPPY!!
Also one last thing....

A Shoe Girl!

My niece Victoria, and my tennis shoe. Once you take off your shoes she has them in her little paws. She loves shoes!! So Cute.
I love her so much I had to name one of my new paper lines after her. I can't wait to show everyone!! -Nikki

5 lbs of Pet Therapy of the 4th of July!

This is my little Yorkie, Bella Blue, and she is a Pet Therapy dog for Hulston Cancer Center. We go together once a month every month and they love her and she loves them... there are a couple of nurses and doctors that take pictures of her every time we come in to visit. They even have her name marked on their monthly calender that hangs in the lobby and elevator. Have a great day -Nikki

PAPER, PAPER, AND EVEN MORE PAPER....

Here it is... my adorable business card!! My sweet Willie-B in a Bee costume. I've fallen in love with my logo. I sure hope everyone else does too!!
We are in the middle of getting all of our papers all ready to go to press, getting files ready, checking them twice or maybe that should be twice a minute every minute of the day!! Our stamps (8 different sets) will all arrive around the middle of May. I can't wait. One of my surprise products that I'm debuting at CHA this summer, came in yesterday, all 5,000 of them. They are so great and i can't wait to start playing with them.... and I can't wait to share them with the scrapbooking/craft world!!! Hint: it's a common everyday household item that totally rocks on layouts, cards, and any crafting project!! Give up.... well you'll just have to wait a little longer!

"Joy"

This is a layout I did of my sweet sister-in-law, Tessa, the day she married my brother Ryan. I loved this paper and knew it was perfect for this picture of Tessa. In this picture of Tessa, we, the bridesmaids, were walking to the chapel when Tessa's youngest brother called her name and peeked his head around the corner to see her one last time before the ceremony. It was such a sweet moment, he even asked her if it was OK to hug her. I think all of us girls had tears in our eyes as we watched this sweet moment between a "big" sister and her "little" brother. -Nikki

A Birthday layout....

I never feel comfortable making a 2 page l/o, I'm definitely a one page l/o girl!!! But, every once in awhile I feel like I need to do one, then I end spending hours arranging and rearranging pictures and I never quite get the feel down for it. So I usually end up using a Becky Higgins sketch; however this is not her sketch, it's mine. (Of which you have probably figured that out by now.)tee hee
This is my niece, Alex and her birthday is just a few days after Christmas. So we try and make a big deal of it since it follows such a big holiday. The pictures from this l/o are from this past December. -Nikki

Dan's 40th b-day layout...

I've been trying to do this l/o for over a year now, and finally finished it at CKC STL last weekend! Not my most creative page..... I was getting tired when I started this one!! However I do like my candles and stitched "40". Since Dan we be 42 this June I figured I should get this l/o finished! tee hee More to come.....

Bella is...

Here is a page is recently did about our little sweet pea, not!! Well, she can be, but she is a terrier too!!!!! I didn't want to cut up or cover up this great paper, so I cut out the center and and put Bella's picture from the bottom up. I hand stitched the yellow circles and used a sewing machine on the edges after sanding, tearing and inking the edges too. Then I just started putting rhinestones, brads and stickles everywhere. I even put a "full length" photo of Bella under the little frame with a bow on top! The journaling, I had to think about b/c again I didn't want to cover up this cool paper, so I wrote "Bella is" on the small blue petals, then wrote the rest of the sentence on the larger blue flower petals. I'm lovin' this l/o....it's all kinda crazy and wild!! Bye Bye -Nikki

Playing....

I seem to be so busy working on "Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker LLC", that I haven't really had the chance to be very creative lately so............. my sweet husband sent me to the Creating Keepsakes Convention in St. Louis for 3 days!! This took place last weekend and my birthday was last Friday so it was a perfect time to chill out and just play. And that's excatly what I did... I took some FUN classes like "Boy Fun" and "Girl Fun" that Kim from Keller's Creations, taught. Not only is she a sweetheart, but the 2 wall hangs I made in her class are adorable! I'll post them tomorrow. (and if you want to check out her store you can go to www.acidfree.com) I went to the Friday night crop and sat with 2 ladies that I became instant friends with, and we've even emailed a few times since I've been back home. (Hi...Dawn and Julia!!) Also met up with 2 of my "online" friends, Steph and Christie, Hi to both of you too! We went to lunch and did a little shopping. But, I have to say that the best part of my weekend was that I entered CK's card contest and used my new stamp set that I created, from my first paper line called, "My Sweet Cherry Pie", this line will debut this summer, and it won!! It was so exciting and I felt like it gave me a little validation that I might be on the right track with my paper line and the matching stamp set that goes with it!!!
The next best part of my weekend was I kinda skipped the Saturday night crop and ordered room service, and scrapbooked until 1 am.... I watched 3 movies on HBO and just played and played!!!!!! (I'll post everything I made tomorrow.)

INTRODUCING ALFRED!

I was lovin' these colors and made this layout about our newest rescue Alfred...a Yorkie mix!! He is such a cutie pie and so very sweet. We are still trying to find the perfect home for him, but our requirements for him are VERY high, so he's with us until then. We'd love to keep him, however our Bella, hates him and picks on him all the time!! (3 fights yesterday) Bella spent most of her day in and out of "doggie" time out....her crate!!! CHA here we come.....

Our booth spot at CHA no longer says "reserved", it now has "Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker" labeled on it. Very exciting for us!!! We, my husband and I, are right across from Prima and behind Mayarts. I can't wait to be apart of the "scrapbooking world"!! I've worked so hard on my paper lines I hope EVERYONE likes, NO LOVES them!!!!!!!!! I finally got to play a little yesterday....

I did this sweet little layout about Ellie, my niece, with chocolate milk on her face!! Isn't she a cutie...I just love her to death. I had a great time on this layout. I painted, did some stitching, used these cool rub-ons that have matching rhinestones, and drew a little. Love the colors and the matching pink and brown in the picture and paper. Dreams really do come true....

Well.....here is my first announcement about my new scrapbook company:
I'm official, Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker LLC, is a manufacturing company that will debut in July 09' at CHA in Orlando FL!! My husband (it sure is nice to have a lawyer as your business partner/hubby) and I are very excited and a bit overwhelmed too. I have some great designs for back to school, Halloween and Christmas papers, stickers, clear stamps etc!!! We hired two ladies to join our team who have over 20 years of experience in the industry. You and Me

I made this layout about my mom and I. I had a bunch of ribbon scraps and wanted to use them so I made this layout using most of them. This picture was taken last summer at my brothers engagement dinner. I also hand stitched and stamped; this was a fun layout to put together.

But I love Easter and wanted to do a layout about me dressed as Mrs. E. Bunny! Also I love this picture of my brother and I. He's suck a cutie-pie!!!!

Don't you love the boldness of the black which is so not an Easter color, but works great with this layout.

Valentine Cards

I made these sweet and simple cards for my nieces and nephew for Valentine's Day. They were so fun to make; the stamp set is called "cupcake" by Close To My Heart. The inside says I love you to pieces.

Miss You

I was missing my little guy so I thought I would do yet another layout about him... It's just coming on a year in March and I still miss that little fella being always at my feet! I took this picture of him in my car looking out the window...It's one of my most favorites. Miss you so much Willie-B.
