Summer Projects from Katrina and a Sneak!

Katrina here today, with a card and layout using the Summer collection.  One of my goals for my projects was to NOT use that pink paper in the Summer collection as the main part of the projects!  I LOVE that paper and when I looked back at prior projects, well, let's just say it shows up a LOT! You will see bits of it on each project, I will admit.  Or...maybe it is that I am hoarding that particular paper?!

First up I have a card for you.  I border punched a strip of the yellow paper and then tucked it behind the blue cloud paper.  I used some designer/washi tap at the bottom and then tied some jute from May Arts close to the bottom.  I made the banner shape, added a small touch of the pink paper, some stickers that I popped up with the U-Cut It Foam from Glue Arts and then added a Cute as a Button burlap button to the top of my bow.

And then the layout. This is a very basic page with no journaling, but I thought the photos told the story pretty well and I really wanted the focus to be on the pictures. Bonus is that I wanted to make a quick page and with the scalloped paper it makes it easy to do.

I love banners and I decided not to cut this one apart and just have it hang like a canopy over my picture. I knew the banner from the 6x6 mini paper would be my go to banner, because of the size of the photo.  You can also see how I cut the border strip of words up from the 6x6 mini paper and accented my photos with them.

The fun chipboard sun from Basically Bare.  Perfect accent for the Summer collection.  I covered with pattern paper, using my Fabri-tac liquid adhesive (LOVE THIS STUFF!) and then every other ray I then covered with some designer/washi tape.

And finally, a little peek of something that I have been working on with Nikki.  Watch for additional peeks this week on the blog.  The full reveal will be in August and you will be able to get in on the fun!!

And that is it from me today here on the blog.  Thanks for visiting!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for our Guest Diva, Delaina Burns!

Basically Bare and Nikki Sivils Day Two!

We are starting the Day Two blog swap with Basically Bare and the Divas have knocked it out of the blogosphere again.  In case you missed Day One go back and check it out!  Basically Bare not only has unique and fun mini books to alter, but they have bare chipboard, canvas, arcrylic, and cardboard embellishments to make your own to match your layouts with the paper collection you are working with!

We will also be having a giveaway, but you will have to comment here on the blog and also over at Basically Bare's blog.  Their designers have created some FUN FUN FUN stuff and I can't wait for you to see it!  But, let's look at what the Divas created first!

Julie Tucker-Wolek created a cute little address book out of a Basically Bare mini album!  She is planning on adding some things to it, once she starts putting names and addresses in.  She used the Messages collection and I would say it's a great combo!

(Be sure to check out Julie's blog, because she will have the full address book on there!)

Jennie McGarvey worked her magic on a layout using the Basically Bare Gears in Acrylic form. These are perfect if you want embellishments, but still want to keep the focus on your pictures.  She used the Noah collection for her layout also.

I knew as soon as I saw those gear acrylic shapes that I wanted to use them.  This page turned out to be the perfect page because they add enough to make the page more interesting, but they are definitely not over powering at all.  The focus is on the photos, which is where I like it to be!

Stacy Rodriguez used the Messages collection for this layout below...there is a story behind every layout and this one is no exception!

So I was soooooo excited last year since it was my first trip to CHA....not only was it my first time look at the two super cool divas I got to meet!!!  How much fun is that, and now scrapping it about with Nikki's line was simply perfect!  For this layout I used Messages, I thought the colors were an excellent fit for this layout.  The fabulous design on this one is from Sketch Support. I created the fun little banner under the photos using a scallop circle punch and then cut them in half.  I however wanted a little something different in the banner so I used Blossoms from Basically Bare.  So many fun possibilities with this line!!

Melissa Pablo and Jennie were thinking along the same lines!  Using the Gears and the Noah collection, Melissa created a fun and funky layout about her boy, Justin!

Marielle LeBlanc just got back from Disney, so Exit Here was a perfect collection for her to create a mini album about their trip.  Here is the cover page and I am in love with it.  Marielle will have the entire album on her blog today, so make sure and give her a visit!

Did you get some ideas?  Are you wanting to get your hands on some Basically Bare and Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker goodies?  Well, we can help you with the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker part!  Leave a comment below and we will draw one winner for a collection kit of your choosing. Basically Bare has a giveaway on their post also! Be sure to comment on yesterday's post, because we have a separate giveaway on that day also!

We are Blog Swapping with Basically Bare! Day One!

Do you like embellishments?  Do you like to "create your own" using a bare base?  Well, we are starting a two day blog swap with Basically Bare today and that is just what the Divas are going to show you!

Laurel Seabrook used the Messages collection to make a journal from one of the mini books the girls were sent.  Here is Laurel to tell you about it.....

Hi everyone, Laurel here.  I am so excited to bring you my Basically Bare project today.  I loved this mixed album as soon as I saw it in my package and couldn't wait to use it.  I decided to make a Gratitude Journal and have left lots of space for adding photos I take, lots of journaling and I love the few envelopes for holding memorabilia or more photos.  I had a lot of fun creating this, I used lots of stamps and Cricut cuts and for adhering the items to the pages I have used the Beacon 3 in 1 Glue.

(Laurel has more pictures of her complete album on her blog)

Jodi Wilton created this CUTE altered frame project that I want her to send me!  I love how the two collections mixed perfectly! Let's hear from Jodi......

I used the six of the chipboard Hearts from to create a home decor project! The hearts were perfect because they were nice and thick, which added a lot of dimension to the project! I covered the hearts with EXIT HERE and AUDREY collections, and added the hot air balloon to tie in the title.

I (Katrina) made this layout about my first trip to CHA using the Audrey collection.  I will have close ups of the dress and heart on my blog.

The girly collection was perfect for the dress form and wings!  I also used a canvas heart and some of the chipboard blossoms to accent my picture.  Double bonus is that that cluster also holds my layout title!  BTW, Suzy is glowing..I am sweating!  July in downtown Chicago during the heatwave last year!

Deana Boston had fun creating with the Basically Bare Celestial Shapes set using the sun and clouds for her layout about a flat tire!!  She used the Noah collection for her layout.

Deana added sequins to her sun and wrapped twine around the felt clouds!

Melanie Jarocki created a couple of cute and fun cards using Audrey and Noah.

Sarah Eclavea has done a fun little mini with the Exit Here collection.  Here are a few of the pages from it.

Basically Bare has a giveaway on their blog also, so be sure to comment on BOTH blogs!! And comment on tomorrow's post, because we will have a giveaway there too!

Fourth Tuesday with Diva Sarah Eclavea

Sarah is taking over the blog today and she has some layouts that are sure to give you some ideas to recreate on your pages.  She used the Messages, Audrey, and Exit Here collections along with some of our cross promotional partners products-Basically Bare, Helmar and The Twinery!  Let's see what she created...

You Are Just My Type

I love the theme of the Messages line and thought it was perfect for this photo of my husband and I last November. To create my title I cut out the saying from the patterned paper to make it fit better. I stamped the clouds on the ledger paper, cut them out and then used Helmar foam dots to pop them up across my page. I also used some Helmar foam dots to adhere my banner. I put the foam dot on the back of each banner piece then adhere the string across the foam dots. This makes it very easy to adhere the whole banner at once where you want it on the page.

Isabel

I wanted to fit lots of photos on this one. I couldn't choose just one of these cute poses! To make more photos fit I printed a collage print from my photo processor. I use Wal-mart and it is very inexpensive to print one of these collages. You can create it online and then have it printed to the Wal-mart store for $1.99. It's also ready in an hour or less! Isn't the Audrey line perfect for little girls? I couldn't resist the cute butterflies, dresses and hearts.

Beach Babe

Exit Here is perfect for all my vacation photos! The perfect compliment to the papers are these clouds from Basically Bare. I just used a little adhesive from a tape runner to stick them down. So easy! And I love the twine from The Twinery. It didn't fray at all like other twines I have used.

Aren't these great?  I think these are some of my favorites from Sarah to date!  Be sure to check out Sarah's blog for more great inspiration and ideas!!
