A big Hello from France !

Hey there ! It's Michele Beck, from France !
I am here to share with you some pages. One of my fav item from Nikki Sivils, well, in fact, i love them all, but the scalloped papers are just gorgeous, and it offers soooo many ways to use it on our projects!
So, here we go :)
For this first one, i used Henry's Brilliance. I cut the scalloped paper named "Smarty Pants" and reassembled it to make a frame:

For the second one, i wanted something extremely feminine as it was a page about me. It's so rare i make that kind of page as i don't have lots of pictures of myself. It's a mix of Elie's Day Out and Dan the Record Man
I really love the paper "4 the Record" but i only wanted something blue... So, i cut out the part i wanted, and punched some little circles. Then, i cut in in two parts. Some butterflies and flowers stamps, a little of sewing, and here we have a feminine page :

And the last one, the line "My friend Birdie" was perfect for this picture of my dd Camille and our dog Elysa. I think this photo represents them in the most perfect way, always in movement, one behind the other, the other behind one, playing etc. It's a pic i took with my I Phone so the quality is not perfect, but it's so easy to keep that kind of moments of everyday life...

I love these stickers, it matches with every thing:

Et voila :) that's it for today !
i hope you enjoyed this post !
have a wonderful month every body !
love,
Michele Beck

SHOWCASING MY FRIEND BIRDIE (and a lot more!!!)

SHOWCASING MY FRIEND BIRDIE

Hello everyone! When I received my package of Nikki Sivils' latest collections, I knew right away that I'm going to play with My Friend Birdie first as it's perfect for my kids' recent pictures.

My first layout features my daughter with her gang at a recent party that we attended (ain't the banners bring out the festive mood?!!!):

My second layout is about friendship - - a furry kind of love actually. ;o) Played a lot with circles, dimensions and layers on this one. Just a fun fact: I think this layout totally predicted the arrival of our new baby (gotta continue reading until the end of my post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). ;o)

My Friend Birdie is versatile enough to be used in non-friendship themed pages too. Here's a page of my son frolicking in the sun as an example!!!!

NIKKI SIVILS AND DIGITAL STAMPS

Just want to invite everyone to view my Nikki Sivils' creations over at Scrapstreet.com Magazine's this month. I got to work with Meljen Designs' digital stamps and I used Nikki Sivils' papers to complement the digital stamps' whimsical images!!! I used Henry's Brilliance in my CLIFFORD layout while I used Willow Bee in my HOWDY Card. Nikki Sivils' papers' versatility rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY NEW BABY

Just want to share too my new baby!!! He's Logan (aka Wolverine!!!!!), a mini-schnauzer (about 2 1/2 months old) that we got only this Saturday night at a local pet shop!!! We totally had no plans of getting a pet at this time (we were thinking next year when our house is fully constructed already!!!), but when my hubby and my kids saw him - - they just fell in love with him at first sight!!!! I just have to announce his arrival into our lives here at NS blog - - because I knew that you could all totally relate and share my happiness!!!!! Thanks for letting me share!!!! ;o)

Do expect Logan in my future Nikki Sivils' creations!!!!!!!!!! Until next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have fun creating,

Some older - Some newer

You just have to love when NEW papers and scrapping products are introduced, especially around CHA time but when I like a particular collection or patterned paper, I am still going to pull out the supplies in my stash, even if they have been around for a bit. These papers from the "Henry's Brilliance" collection are no exception! I am always on the lookout for patterns and colors that fit for BOY layouts since our three youngest grandkids are boys.
The oranges and dark blues in this collection are perfect. I am also a sucker for any print that is harlequin in pattern! Here, I combined two patterns and added in the BRAND NEW sticker letters from the "Blueberry Hill" collection. I can never get enough alphabet stickers so these work for me. Notice the tiny accents of the self adhesive buttons and they also already come with the thread in the holes - how does it get better!
Here I combined some new and some old! The papers are from the BRAND NEW "My Friend Birdie" collection. I used a piece from the smaller pads. These prints are the perfect size for cards. The sentiment was printed from the computer.
See those cute chairs? They are stamps from a previous release. I just stamped them on patterned papers and then cut them out.
And this card combines patterned and elements from the "Blueberry Hill" collection. I am madly in love with the blues and greens along with the yellow flowers. The flourish label beneath the flower is a Spellbinder Label die. I just love how easy these are to work with and the wonder shapes of these labels.

SKETCHES AND NIKKI SIVILS

This month, I am so happy to share that I am guest designing over at Sketches: Creatively Yours. SCY has fun and awesome sketches to inspire you in creating your pages. For the first two sketch challenges this July, I am bringing Nikki Sivils' yumminess with the layouts I have created.

The first one uses Henry's Brilliance and features my nephew Lance :

This owl is super cute!!!!!!!!!!!! I made him sit on the tree sticker from Pocket of Stickers - Blue Bees.

The second one uses Will He B the 1 and features my dear daughter Nat enjoying her iced tea:

I made it look that she's sipping from the sundae/shake cut-out. ;o)

Hope you can play along with us over at SCY!!! Until next time!!!

Have fun creating,

OWL always have fun creating with Nikki Sivils' products...

I was in the mood to make something silly recently. I'm not sure that an owl with big pink kissy lips was initially on my mind, but that was my result! My daughter's friend told me it looked more like a cat with those lips, but humor me & go along with the fact that it's SUPPOSED to be an OWL!

Want to see how I made it?

I started with my OWL mini chipboard album...... and painted it white...

I used a circle punch on my Bella, Bella paper & punches out the flowers to begin making my "feathers" (or... it could be a dress... you decide!)

I flipped up the edges of each circle to add texture...

... and then added some Burlap Buttons for the eyes, some pink lips & some more pink for the ears. Although the pink lip "cut-ups" from the Will He B The 1 line is more commonly used for love-themed pages, there's versatility in everything!

I hope you've been inpsired to create something new, in a not-so-obvious way!
OWL be back next month!
Hugs...

What can you do with one piece of paper?

Now, I did use more then one piece to complete the projects I am going to share with you, but the main piece of each project is taken from one piece of patterned paper. It is kind of like cutting a pie in several pieces and you sure wouldn't want to waste any pie or paper.
The above image is the piece of paper that I am talking about, taken from the Dan the Record Man collection. I wanted the black, record looking portion from this piece of paper. I started to cut off the scallop edge but I sure didn't want to waste any of that because I love scallop circles. So I very carefully got a cut big enough to get my scissors in, I used a medium scallop scissors that I have and started to cut around the inside of the circle, making scallop cuts on the backside of the bigger scallop edge. Now I have a complete, cut out circle to set aside for my next project. (you will be able to picture this piece better when you see the layout I created with it)
What I didn't realize when I started out cutting this piece is the neat, negative scallop edge that I would create around the black, record print circle. This was going to work to my advantage for my card because I thought it helped with a masculine look. I cut two partial circles to fit on the front of my card. The background piece on my card is from the "Hear the Beat" patterned paper. I LOVE this piece of paper, it just seems to fit so many themes in it's soft shades of yellow. The accent pieces are cut from the "Record Room" patterned paper.
Now, back to my scallop circle. . .

The background piece of paper is a ledger print from the North Pole Nights collection. I LOVE ledger prints, they are so neutral and go with everything. This piece was just the right colors that I wanted to use. My scallop circle from the 4 the Record paper is all cut and ready to go so that part was fast and easy. I cut out one strip of a ruler print from the Henry's Brilliance collection. I thought it had a "boy" look to it and the color was just right. I used a sketch from Unscripted Sketches for my layout, I love the inspiration that comes from finding sketches.

I punched out some of the record designs from the "Record Man" patterned paper. I thought they made really cute little accents, kind of along the line of flowers but with a more masculine feel to them. Brads in the centers finished those off.
I even have some pieces of my paper left so I'll need to think of what else to do with it.

TWO BABIES, A MOM and A WEDDING

Hello everyone!!! This is Janis your blog hostess for today. I have several projects to share with you - - and I'm starting off with a layout that I have made for my super cute nephew Jester using Henry's Brilliance papers (for close-ups/detail shots, please see my blog post HERE).

I was also able to play with Ellie's Day Out papers and came up with a layout of my big baby Nat. I super love that the papers match the girly cuteness of my dear daughter. LOL. Here she is showing off her blue nails!!! (For close-up/detail shots, please see my post HERE).

I also made a card for Mothers' Day. The Ellie's Day Out Line is perfect not just for little girls but also for big girls like mommies!!!! :o)

Last Saturday, I attended the wedding of my officemate. Since she and her hubby will migrate to Australia after the wedding, my other officemates and I decided to give them money as our "good luck" gift. It's not much but just to show that the gift was still personalized, I decided to make her a pocket card using Will He B the 1 papers and the Red Crosshatch Pocket of Stickers. ;o)

Here's the inside of the card - - I inserted our gift money inside the pocket!!! This Pocket of Stickers is really a brilliant and versatile packaging that you can use on your projects!!! ;o)

Hope I inspired you to bring out and play with Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker's yummy products!!! Until next time!!!

Have fun creating,
