Hello everyone!  This is Janis blogging here at Nikki Sivils once again!!!  Welcome to another showcasing edition (this is my fourth actually - - I have done Willow Bee, Dan the Record Man, and My Friend Birdie - - showcasing is sooo much fun I hope to be able to do it monthly!!!!) and this time I'll be showcasing Tree Love with a twist - - I incorporated paper twines on all my three layouts!!!!

SHOWCASING TREE LOVE

While my usual scrapbooking subjects on my NS layouts are my kids and my nephews, I couldn't help but use Tree Love on my recent photos with my friends.  Here's the first one:

Created a mini shadow "window" here using pop-dots:

Paper Twine Idea #1:  Loop paper twines on your punched paper edges!!!

Here's my second layout:

Lookie loo, Beaver's holding a Craft Flag!!!!

Paper Twine Idea #2:  Make tassels out of paper twines!!!

Here's my third layout, this time it's just me LOL!!!!  It's supposed to be funny because there's a backstory to it.  ;o)

Paper Twine Idea #3:  Make titles out of paper twines!!!

SHOWCASING MY FRIEND BIRDIE (and a lot more!!!)

SHOWCASING MY FRIEND BIRDIE

Hello everyone! When I received my package of Nikki Sivils' latest collections, I knew right away that I'm going to play with My Friend Birdie first as it's perfect for my kids' recent pictures.

My first layout features my daughter with her gang at a recent party that we attended (ain't the banners bring out the festive mood?!!!):

My second layout is about friendship - - a furry kind of love actually. ;o) Played a lot with circles, dimensions and layers on this one. Just a fun fact: I think this layout totally predicted the arrival of our new baby (gotta continue reading until the end of my post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). ;o)

My Friend Birdie is versatile enough to be used in non-friendship themed pages too. Here's a page of my son frolicking in the sun as an example!!!!

NIKKI SIVILS AND DIGITAL STAMPS

Just want to invite everyone to view my Nikki Sivils' creations over at Scrapstreet.com Magazine's this month. I got to work with Meljen Designs' digital stamps and I used Nikki Sivils' papers to complement the digital stamps' whimsical images!!! I used Henry's Brilliance in my CLIFFORD layout while I used Willow Bee in my HOWDY Card. Nikki Sivils' papers' versatility rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY NEW BABY

Just want to share too my new baby!!! He's Logan (aka Wolverine!!!!!), a mini-schnauzer (about 2 1/2 months old) that we got only this Saturday night at a local pet shop!!! We totally had no plans of getting a pet at this time (we were thinking next year when our house is fully constructed already!!!), but when my hubby and my kids saw him - - they just fell in love with him at first sight!!!! I just have to announce his arrival into our lives here at NS blog - - because I knew that you could all totally relate and share my happiness!!!!! Thanks for letting me share!!!! ;o)

Do expect Logan in my future Nikki Sivils' creations!!!!!!!!!! Until next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SKETCHES AND NIKKI SIVILS

This month, I am so happy to share that I am guest designing over at Sketches: Creatively Yours. SCY has fun and awesome sketches to inspire you in creating your pages. For the first two sketch challenges this July, I am bringing Nikki Sivils' yumminess with the layouts I have created.

The first one uses Henry's Brilliance and features my nephew Lance :

This owl is super cute!!!!!!!!!!!! I made him sit on the tree sticker from Pocket of Stickers - Blue Bees.

The second one uses Will He B the 1 and features my dear daughter Nat enjoying her iced tea:

I made it look that she's sipping from the sundae/shake cut-out. ;o)

Hope you can play along with us over at SCY!!! Until next time!!!

SHOWCASING DAN THE RECORD MAN

Hello! This is Janis blogging here at Nikki Sivils today!!! First, let me say that I am happy to be (still) on the NS DT - - I thought three months was too short to showcase the yummy NS products (I started blogging here last March). To do this for a full-term is really an opportunity that I am thankful for.

Today, I'm gonna showcase Dan the Record Man - - I have three layouts featuring two of the most important guys in my life. ;o)

Let me start with my little guy Phil - - took the picture while we were at the local music cd store. These papers are just sooo perfect, don't you think? ;o)

Got to test my stamping skills (stamped my The Record paper with music stamp as background)...
Placed my cluster of cut-outs here and some blings there (for that rockstar feel!!!). Used some cord brads and black burlap buttons too (love the instant texture these two bring to my layout!!!)...

Cut-out another record and adhered it with a pop-dot for added dimension...

Next up is my big guy. I was looking at some old pictures and I saw these - - dated September 1992. ;o) Another yay for perfect papers!!!!!

For the record, I'm soooo blessed to have him in my life...

2 Bs on my cluster - - blings and burlap button...

I was able to finish these 2 layouts way ahead of time so I got to create one more - - I thought it would be fun to make a face-off of sorts - - I find it amazing that these two pictures have 18 years between them and that my little guy is sooo much like my big guy!!!! I found the inspiration on Journaling Junkie's Challenge 82: Create a layout about the similarities of your kids and their Dad:

I got to use the record stamp included in Dan the Record Man's 4x4 Clear Stamp Collection to dress up my star cut-out.

I also placed some 3D elements here and there by adhering cut-outs with pop-dots (ooohh, did some handstitching too!!!).

Hope I inspired you to grab your Dan the Record Man stash and play!!!

Have fun creating,

janis

P.S. My big guy hasn't seen these layouts, I plan to show it to him on Sunday as one of my Father's Day gifts. ;o) Hope he'll love them as much as I do. ;o)

Happy Fathers' Day to your big guys too!!! ;o)

TWO BABIES, A MOM and A WEDDING

Hello everyone!!! This is Janis your blog hostess for today. I have several projects to share with you - - and I'm starting off with a layout that I have made for my super cute nephew Jester using Henry's Brilliance papers (for close-ups/detail shots, please see my blog post HERE).

I was also able to play with Ellie's Day Out papers and came up with a layout of my big baby Nat. I super love that the papers match the girly cuteness of my dear daughter. LOL. Here she is showing off her blue nails!!! (For close-up/detail shots, please see my post HERE).

I also made a card for Mothers' Day. The Ellie's Day Out Line is perfect not just for little girls but also for big girls like mommies!!!! :o)

Last Saturday, I attended the wedding of my officemate. Since she and her hubby will migrate to Australia after the wedding, my other officemates and I decided to give them money as our "good luck" gift. It's not much but just to show that the gift was still personalized, I decided to make her a pocket card using Will He B the 1 papers and the Red Crosshatch Pocket of Stickers. ;o)

Here's the inside of the card - - I inserted our gift money inside the pocket!!! This Pocket of Stickers is really a brilliant and versatile packaging that you can use on your projects!!! ;o)

Hope I inspired you to bring out and play with Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker's yummy products!!! Until next time!!!

Have fun creating,

MORE WILLOW BEE GOODNESS

Hello! This is Janis blogging here at Nikki Sivils!!!! The DTs were asked to focus on the newer lines so for my post today, I'm bringing you not 1, not 2, but 3 layouts using Willow Bee goodness!!!

If you ask me what's my most fave paper in this line, I'd say it's the A Good Place To B paper. You have already seen me use it here, so I have 2 more left to play with. For my first layout that I'm sharing with you today, I made this using 2 of these shaped papers.

Just some blings and glitter love and everything else is from Willow Bee!!!

Ooohh, I was also able to use some captions from the Willow Bee Clear Stamps!!!

I straightened the cut of my A Good Place to B paper and used one portion on my second layout below:

Stickled my bumble bee- - love how it turned out!!!

Used popdots with different heights on my clouds for added dimension!!!

Used also sequins on my sunflower centers - - well, I read somewhere that they're hot scrapping commodities nowadays, so I went on and used some on my layout LOL!!!!

Finally, I used 2 pieces of my A Good Place To B scraps as layers for my title work on my third layout below:

Lots of dimensions on this layout!!!

Funny that I didn't have sketches when I made these layouts - - my designs were just guided with the papers (and the leftover/scraps!!!!). I hope I inspired you to play with your Willow Bee papers!!! Until next time!!!

Have fun creating,
janis

MABUHAY FROM MANILA!!!!

Hello everyone!!! This is Janis, blogging from Manila, Philippines!!!! I'm sooo excited to make my first post here at Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker - - so much that I have six projects to share with you today!

My first layout used Bella Blue and Oscar Too (the name is as cute as the papers, don't you agree?). I made this layout for All About Me for Challenge13: My Personality. I figured the papers suit my girly girl side. ;o) (For details and close ups of this layout, you may visit my blog here.)

On the other hand, these two projects were part of my Nikki Sivils handmade giveaways in the previous blog crawl (I had sooo much fun, I am definitely looking forward to the next one!!!). The wall hanging used the Willow Bee line, while the mask used Butterfly Rest paper from the Flaming Butterfly collection. (For details and close-ups of these projects, see here.)

I also made 3 new layouts to debut today (well, I worried you may already have seen the 3 above, I don't want you to yawn and get sleepy at my post!!!! LOL) featuring my kiddos, Nat and Phil. You'd see more of them in my works over here at Nikki Sivils!!!!

Using Flaming Butterfly

I hope I inspired you to bring out your Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker stash and play with them! The papers are absolutely cute and yummy, I can't wait to create more! Till next time!
