Glue Arts Day One Swap!

We are so excited to be blog swapping with the talented Glue Arts Blog today!  If you aren't familiar with Glue Arts, they are, you guessed it...an adhesive company with some fun products.  Check out their full line at their website HERE.

Our designers were sent a ton of fun product to work with and I think I can say that everyone on the team loved the products.

Let's get the party started!  We have some fun stuff to show you and I don't want to wait any longer!

First up is Deana Boston with a layout idea that I am in love with!  She used the Exit Here collection and that sun just ROCKS!  She tells us a little about her page.

Exit Here... my favorite new collection!  The photos aren't of great quality, but I'm all for having pages with photos + journaling in our scrapbooks!  As for my "sun"... I hand-cut my shapes & then machine-stitched all the borders to further define it.  Then I added some of the 3D U Cut It adhesive Foam Blanks under the sun to add more dimension.

And Deana also made a fun Father's Day card using the Noah collection.

I used Glue Glider Pro under my Father Knows Best sentiment and the U Cut It 3D Adhesive Foam Blanks under my patterned paper so I could wrap my twine around my paper.

Next up, I (Katrina) have a layout using the Audrey collection.  I seem to be using this collection a LOT!

I used the Glue Glider Pro, which I fell in love with a long time ago, to adhere most of my layout.  Where I wanted dimension, I used the 3D UCut Foam Adhesive to raise items.  I did use it unde my title, just to make it stand out a little more.  I also found that the little Adhesive Squares were great to attach my blue scalloped border with.

 

Jennie McGarvey has done a wonderful card using the Exit Here collection.

I love to make feminine birthday cards since basically none of my scrapbook pages are feminine.  I LOVE the flowers in the Exit Here line and I knew using them would create a very special card.  That plus the Glue Arts Glue Glider made a quick card that is very beautiful and fun!

Laurel Seabrook made a cute card using the Audrey collection.  Love the shape!

I love working with the Glue Arts products.  I used the Adhesive Squares to hold the pieces in place so they didn't shift while I was sewing (the squares are so sticky I didn't need many!).  Once that was done I used the Adhesive squares to hold my twine, button and sentiment strip in place.  Finally, the Glue Glider Pro came in handy when I was adhereing the card front to the card base.  

Stacy Rodriguez made a cute card and tag.  She used the Audrey collection and the Messages collection.  

I felt that the Audrey line was the perfect way to go to create this Mother's Day card.  The Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro made putting this card together a breeze.  I also used the 3D combo pac to pop up the little banner piece at the top of the card and the heart at the bottom.

I also created this fun tag using the Messages line and a brown burlap button using the Glue Glider Pro.  Cutting a long strip of foam from the 3D combo pack made it easy to pop of the strip across the middle of the tag.

Melanie Jarocki made a cute little note pad out of the Messages collection.

A friend of mine who had her birthday this month enjoys getting handmade gifts. I covered this notepad for her so she could use it as a journal or a place to keep her lists. Since it was a notepad, I went with Nikki's Messages Collection, adding some red letters and burlap buttons. The Glue Arts products were perfect for this altered item! I used the Extreme Tac Half-inch adhesive squares to adhere the paper to the notebook covers. Then, for the paper on paper layers, I used the handy dandy Glue Glider Pro. It is so easy to use and the adhesive went on as smooth as butter."

Fourth Wednesdays with Laurel!

Hi everyone! So excited to share Laurel's creations today!

"Hi everyone, Laurel here with my a couple of projects.  Last month I shared some projects using the Messages collection.  This month I have been busy with the Audrey and Exit here collections.  I am loving the versatility of these kits!" ~~Laurel

First up, I love to upcycle things and, like Julie, love going to Thrift Shops and Garage Sales for things that I can alter. For my card I have used some of the Audrey Collection  I always think of denim when I see these papers, especially the flowered one so I paired it up with some denim flowers.  I cut out some circles from hubby's old jeans and rolled them up into roses using Beacon Adhesive FABRIC-TAC adhesive.  The bit of bling, called Endless Waves is from Want2Scrap, and I like the bling with the old denim.  

For my layout I used the Exit Here Collection, I love how this is a Road Trip/Camping kit but so easily can be used for other things like I have done here.  The little pennants hanging beside the photo are chipboard ones from Basically Bare.  I used my Beacon Adhesive Zip Dry Paper Glue to adhere some paper to them, I love how quickly the Zip Dry works and no wrinkling of paper!  Of course a bit of Blossom Twinery Twine is wrapped around the photo.

Fourth Tuesday with Diva Katrina Hunt

Hey everyone, it's Katrina here with my projects for the month!  It seems like the month has just flown by and I looked at the calendar and went, "oh my gosh I have a blog posting due"!  

I love working with all the collections and every time I think I know what my favorite it, it changes!  The projects I am sharing today are with the Messages collection kit. 

I decided to do an 8.5 x 11 layout.  I just wanted to do a simple and clean layout and that size works perfect for me to do that. 

I used a scallop circle punch to make my border here with the houndstooth paper and then just added one of the hearts from the punch out page.

I wanted to accent the journaling card and I went to my standby-twine!  I also used one of those Cute as a Button burlap buttons that I love so much.

And these were in the booth at CHA, my altered books.  Nikki asked me if I wanted to do them and Messages was the perfect collection to do them with!

I used matte medium gel to adhere all the paper to the books and I also used a layer of it to seal the books after I got them finished.

 I used a border punch on each side of the paper that covers the seam to give some detail to it.  Then, I added some of the cut-ups on each of the books.  I didn't want them to have too much stuff on them, just enough to make them interesting!

Third Thursday with Sarah Eclavea

Sarah is here today with some adorable projects and she used her Cricut for some of them too!  Let's she what she has been up to since her last post!  She also used some of our fun cross promotional partner products.  

First of all, Sarah has made some cute, cute, cute cards!  Her first card is using the Exit Here collection.

Celebrate Sunshine Card

I used my Cricut and the "Straight from the Nest" cartridge to cut the tree on my card. I popped it up with some Helmar Zapdots to give it dimension. I also added some twine from The Twinery and bling from Want to Scrap.

You are Berry Sweet

I love the Audrey collection! It is one of my favorites and pefect for cards, layouts and everything else! I stamped the word sweet and then added some little letters from the cardstock sticker sheet to finish my sentiment.

Sweet Little Skunk Layout

I couldn't resist cutting this little skunk to match my daughter's Halloween costume! I cut the skunk, tree trunk and the word sweet in my title using my Cricut and the "Create A Critter" cartridge. I wanted to make a sweet halloween page instead of a traditional one and Audrey was the perfect choice. I also used some bling from Want to Scrap, Helmar Zapdots and Beacon 3 in 1 adhesive.

Ok, that skunk is just too precious...both her daughter and the die cut!!  I think it works PERFECTLY with the Audrey collection!

It's the Third Wednesday and Stacy is here!

It's no secret that Stacy loves to alter things and she has been very busy doing that this month.   Altering Wendy Vecchi Art Parts Stacy came up with this cool way to display messages complete with a little bit of cork.  This project was created using the Messages line, which has lots of fun die cuts shapes that would go perfect on any message board. Don't forget to add those burlap buttons for that little touch of added embellishment.

Up next Stacy continues to share her little bit of vintage with us!  This is a very special project that she created for our very own Nikki.  Using the line Audrey, in honor of Nikki's grandmother,  Stacy created this unique way for Nikki to display a photo of her grandmother.

So, Stacy went totally vintage with these two collections and she showed us just how versatile you can go with these Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker collections!

From antique washboard to Message Board!

Hi everyone!!

One thing you may not know about me is I love to go antiquing! Well lately, I have been scouring my local antique store for an old fashioned wash board... I kept seeing ones with too high of a price tag, or the wood was broken etc...and then one day, I FINALLY found ONE!! It was $10 and in perfect condition!! I turned it into a message board using the Nikki's MESSAGES collection!!! And Nikki has some AMAZING cross promos going on right now and so on this project I used in some twine from The Twinery, some Basically Bare bits, a pearl from Want2Scrap, Beacon's Fast Finish Decoupage and Beacon's Zip Dry!!

Here is a step by step on how I created this!

Here is what I started out with - my old fashioned washboard and I also found a vintage spelling tablet for $1!!

 

First I painted the washboard and then added Beacon's Fast Finish decoupage to  protect the paint from scratches etc...

 Then I covered the little spelling tablet in the Messages papers and glued magnets to the back of it to go on the metal part of the washboard (I also added magnets to the back of everything that's on the metal part of the washboard!) I used Beacon's Zip Dry to glue on my magnets -

The bird is also from Basically Bare and again I added the Messages papers to it, and then added a pearl from Want2Scrap for the eye --

 

And here is a card I made for my BFF using the Exit Here collection!

 

And I was inspired by my fellow DT member Deana when she used the Exit Here papers to make a mini -- so I decided to make one too!! My family and I went to Disneyland last month, and I wanted to make a quick little mini to share some of my photos of our trip!  I also used a light coat of Beacon's Fast Finish decoupage on each page before I embellished it, to make the papers more sturdy!
