Second Thursday's with Jennie McGarvey!

Hi everyone!

I am excited to share Jennie's creations with you today! She is amazingly talented and so happy she is on our team! Today she is sharing a layout and two cards made with the Audrey collection!

"I started with Audrey because it's so cute and I love working with it -- yet I was afraid I wouldn't get many chances since it's so girly!  I used it for a page mostly about our dog, Holly Golightly, that also includes my youngest son.  It worked perfectly!

Apparently, I was really feeling drawn to Audrey because I ended up designing these cards in my head, with it -- even though I didn't mean to make 3 Audrey projects!  I need a quick card that I wanted to send in a small just because gift -- and Audrey worked perfectly!  The card looks really cute, but not super easy and simple -- which it was!  

The birthday card was based on one I had already made with different supplies -- but I loved the concept.  I cut strips, glued them to a sheet of cardstock and punched out the circle.  SUPER fun way to change things up and add some visual interest by using scraps!" ~~Jennie

First Wednesday with Melanie Jarocki

We are so excited about Melanie's first official posting here on the blog and we think you are going to be too!  We have a three layouts, one of which is a double page layout, and a card!  So, let's hear from Melanie, herself, about her projects today!

Date Birthday Age

For this layout I wanted a really cheerful, happy feel--the Exit Here collection was perfect! I layered 3 of the patterned papers under my photo for special effect. Mixing up the letters on the title gives it a playful look as well. I love adding banners to my projects--this won't be the last of them you see.

You are Loads of Fun Card

It's always great to have products to make boy cards. I have three boys so I want to have special cards and notes for them as well as my girls. The Noah collection's primary colors and fun graphics will get plenty of use in my house! And I love the Cute as a Button burlap buttons to add a finishing touch.

Weekend Getaway

I loved using the little die-cuts from the Messages collection to add 

a little extra detail to my photos.

Jokes

When my oldest son was six years old, he had a heyday making up his own jokes. I used the Messages collection to record a few of them. I printed directly on the ledger paper and then handwrote my journaling on the journaling pocket. Instead of using the die-cut pennants as a banner, I turned them on their side to accent the photo.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE the fact that Melanie used the collections out of the collection theme!  Try doing it sometime and see what you come up with!

First Tuesday's with Deana Boston!

Hi everyone!

Today is Deana's day on Nikki's blog and she has three amazing cards and a layout with a tutorial to share with us today! I just love Deana's work! She always amazes me!

For Deana's cards she used the Messages and Exit Here collections!

"I love how fast & easy it is to use the cut-outs & punch-outs to make cards!  I can simply add some ribbon or twine along with them... or even make my own embellishments using some of Nikki's paper, like I did on my Thank You So Much card.  And the brown Burlap Button was the perfect finishing touch!  I LOVE the new collections!" ~~Deana

And here is Deana's layout and her tutorial on how she makes her flag banners!! Deana used the Messages collection on her beautiful layout!

I decided to use the Messages collection to preserve a “love note” email from my husband.  In order to make my flag banner, I used the cover sheet to the collection and cut out each strip individually. 

 

I gave my strips the look of a ribbon, by gently folding each piece in half (without totally creasing it) and then snipping the end diagonally.  I drew a line with a pen for illustrative purposes only…

 

Then I just slightly overlapped all my strips and added a photo to my banner.  I included my email print-out on top and further embellished my page with border strips and cut-outs.

I’ve been making so many flag banners on my pages lately, that my 10-year old daughter recently asked me how many times I was going to put them on my pages.  I said, “Well, I don’t know.  Clearly I must like making them!”

I think I'm alive.... I think?!?

Hi there everyone! 

I'm knee deep in orders that I'm shipping out from CHA, which is a good thing! Also, sadly, Lanie has left the business and moved to Chicago. I knew it was coming and have been in denial for the last several months about her leaving.  I've not filled her position yet but do have a good friend of mine, Marla, working here on Monday's and Friday's which is great and she is so much help to me.  

If I told the week I've had last week you wouldn't believe it! Seriously... I hardly do myself!

I managed to get a horrible face rash, I'm sure stress induced and a concussion mid-week! The rash is around my mouth and to my nose, bright red and it burns and itches! WTHECK!! And then while at Fed-Ex on Wednesday I managed to drop a 55 lb box on the foot of a dolly which in return the handle hit me in the head hard! The handle hit me so hard that an older gentleman had to help me in the store, which I don't remember any of that part, I just remember parts of the next several hours. CRAZINESS! 

I tried to work on Thursday and it took me about 3 hours to get one shipment off!  So I went to bed and slept the entire day. Then on Friday I was in and out of it all day.  Feeling much better now but still have a nice goose-egg on my forehead. 

I blame Lanie! She's no longer here to defend herself and if she hadn't have moved away then I wouldn't have ended up with my head trauma! LOL! I'll miss you Lanie!

Hoping and keeping my fingers crossed this week will be better!

I have the privilege to introduce our last DT Diva, Katrina Hunt!

Most people don't know this but I didn't meet Katrina through scrapbooking, we met one summer via our dogs. Katrina and I both had our pups enrolled in agility classes, and I don't even remember how we started talking, probably dog stuff. Then she joined Pet Therapy of the Ozarks which I was a member of and we just became friends and our dogs both became therapy dogs. Then one day she called me and asked if I'd meet her to get some of the basic supplies for scrapbooking, she thought she might start playing around to see if she liked it. Well, to say the least she's an addicted! A scrapbooking addict! 

Katrina lives in my home town so we see each other often and she helps out with all Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker events. I adore Katrina!

Our blog format is changing just a bit.  We are giving each Diva their own day on the blog each month to show off their wonderful projects and hopefully inspire you to get out your Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker papers and create your own projects!

When I first saw the Noah collection,I knew right 

away that I would create a layout with this photo of 

my  oldest boy Gabriel (at age 2).

 I Love the denim color in this collection

Pretty Blondes is with the Audrey collection...

I chose the Audrey collection to create this layout of my sister and niece (they really do look more like sisters). I cut out many of the images on "Audrey's pictures" paper to help describe the things they love. They both play musical instruments, love fashion, nature and a good cup of coffee. I also added the pearl gems in honor of Nikki's grandmother Audrey, who wore pearls all the time.
