Tuesday Mix Up!

We are going to mix it up a little today.  Yesterday, we had You're a Hoot projects and today we have some of those also.  BUT, we have some fun Gingerbread Land projects for you too!

Have you STARTED your Christmas cards yet?  Me, I ordered from Target....I admit I just don't have time to make Christmas cards for everyone.  Some special people might get some handmade ones if I have time, but anyone we send cards to is going to get some photo cards.

First up on the blog we have Linda Beeson.  This lady has some of the cutest card ideas!  She used her Cricut Expression on both of these and I love how she used the negative of the cut.  I think I have said it before, but I really need to try that.  Linda used the Gingerbread Land collection for both her cards here today.

Ria Mojica sent me this layout and when I saw the tree...well, I fell in love!!  So cute and it looks pretty easy to do.  She used the Gingerbread Land collection on this great layout.

Now we have Delaina Burns with a couple of layout ideas for you.  I just love her scrappy style and all the layering that she does.  She makes it look effortless!

Here she used the Gingerbread Land collection.  And I LOVE the cluster in the bottom right corner.  And just look at that sweet face!

You're a Hoot is the star collection on this layout, but I am thinking the kids in the picture are the stars of the layout!  Delaina cut out a strip of circles from the Hoots Border Strips and then used the Warm Cord Brads and the Cute as a Button burlap buttons as accents for the strip.  Great idea.

Next up is Leah Farquarhson with a couple of very cute Thanksgiving themed cards and a fun layout!

Leah used You're a Hoot on these cards.  She used her Cricut Expression with the Paper Dolls cartridge to cut the leaves for the cards.
Then she used her Storybook cartridge for the mats.

Her layout definitely has some "silly boys" on it!  And she use the You're A Hoot collection along with the My Lil' Monster collection to create this layout.

That's it from us today.  Here in the United States we are getting ready to give thanks for the wonderful lives we have, family that we are blessed with, and everything in between.  And maybe...just maybe....sneak in a little creative time along with all the cooking!

International Diva Time..Jill, Mahlin, Ria, and Mette Rocking the Blog

Today is International Diva day here on the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog!  And they all have some fun layouts for you!

First up is Jill Hildebrand.
She has done a couple of layouts this time around,
so let's she what she has come up with.
She used the My Lil Monster collection for both of her layouts.

Here is a fun layout entitled "NASA" and how cute is the picture of them in their space helmets?!!

Next up is a layout titled "Monster Truck"!
PERFECT title with the My Lil Monster
collection being used!  I love all her stitching she does.

Next up is Mahlin Wiggur.  She has a layout for us also, with the My Lil Monster Collection.

Such a fun take on a layout about herself!  And a unique use for My Lil Monster as well.  Love the circle picture placed into the die cut from the Punch Outs!

Then we have Ria Mojica who is used My Lil Monster also!  (I love seeing all the different takes on these papers!)

And this collection is PERFECT to scrap Halloween photos with!

And last, but certainly not least is Mette Kallander.  She scrapped a picture from her childhood.  That is her in the yellow cardigan.

She used a few collections mixed together, including Get Well Soon, School is Cool, and My Lil Monster.

And in some other exciting news, our talented Diva, Jen Matott was interviewed for the new website, Design Team Calls.
You can check out her interview HERE.

That's it for today. It was a perfect day and I have had my excitement for the day of riding a Segway for the first time. I am proud to say that I only had to bail twice!  A record in my opinion!!  And no Segways were hurt during this!

September Challenge Time!

Well, the month of September has FLOWN by!  I couldn't actually believe when I went to write this post that it was challenge time again! And there were a few of you that played along with our Divas in August to "Scrap an Object".  Which means we need to announce a winner.

Mary Pat Shiel, YOU are the challenge winner!!!

We loved the fact that we got you to scrap something that you had been putting off!  And the We Are Family collection was a perfect choice for your beautiful house picture!

Please email me at cardipaws@sbcglobal.net with your choice of one of the new collection kits and your mailing information and we will get your prize in the mail to you!

Which brings us to September's challenge!

"Scrap a Size You Don't Normally Scrap"

So, if you usually scrap 12 x 12 well, mix it up...scrap 8x8, 6x6, 12x6....you get the idea.  And card girls, if you usually make cards in standard sizes, change it up...make a shaped card, a long skinny rectangle card...you get the picture!!!

So, let's see what everyone has come up with!

First is Jill Hildebrand, who WOWED me when I got these!

Next up we have Deana Boston, who scrapped the 8.5 x 11 size!

She used the My Lil Monster and School is Cool collections!

And then Julie Tucker-Woleck scrapped this wall hanging that she is giving away on her blog to teacher.  Here's the link!

She used the School is Cool collection!

Then Ria Mojica created this adorable layout with Get Well Soon!

And then I scrapped an 8.5 x 12 size!

I used You're A Hoot for my layout, along with the Cute as a Button buttons and the Warm and Cool Corduroy Brads.

And that's it from the Divas!

So, we want YOU to play along!!  Just make a layout following the guidelines above for "Scrap a Size You Do Not Normally Scrap" and use at least 75% Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker products.  It does not matter if it is an older or newer collection, we just want to see them!

Leave a link to your blog post or gallery with a picture of your completed challenge entry on this post by October 29th.  We will pick one winner and announce them on October 30th, when we announce the next challenge. The winner will get to pick one of the new collections kits of their choosing!

Next up is Leah Farqharson.  She sent me a great Get Well Soon layout and then she snuck in a School is Cool layout!

And then we had an International Diva sneak in today!!  Ria Mojica created this adorable layout with Get Well Soon.

It's Challenge Time!!!

It's Katrina and our monthly challenge is back this month.  We took last month off with all the CHA madness going on, but we are back at it and the Diva's rocked it this month!

I issued the following challenge to the Divas:

Scrap an Object
For this months challenge you can use any collection or combination of collections you like.  The challenge is to scrap something that you normally do not scrap. No kids, no pets, no events, etc.  Scrap your favorite book, drink, phone, etc.  As long as it is not a live object you are good!

So, remember when I posted there was a hint in the one of the blog posts
about the challenge?
Well, here is the layout that was the hint!

Mette scrapped her sick computer with the Get Well Soon collection!!

School is in everyone's minds right now and a couple of our Divas scrapped school supplies!
They both used the School is Cool collection for their layouts.

Julie Tucker-Wolek scrapped her son's school books!

And then Leah Farquharson scrapped her kids new school supplies!

Next up we have Jill Hildebrand with a layout featuring her kids art work!
Jill used the My Lil Monster collection to showcase her "Art Monster"!

Then a couple of Divas scrapped food, which I think is always fun to do!

Lea Albers used the School is Cool collection to create a layout about taking
a cake decorating workshop!

Then Ria Mojica scrapped some of her family's favorite food...Spam!  Which is probably strange to us Americans, but it's a very popular item where she lives!

She used School is Cool also!

And then there are a few of us Divas (this is including Mette above!) that might
be a just little attached to the technology in our lives!

Deana Boston created this layout about her iPad!
She used the My Lil Monster's collection.

I laughed when I got Deana's layout in my email, because my layout is
about my iPad and new computer!  I used School is Cool on mine.

So now you know what your challenge is!  Scrap an object using the guidelines above using at least 75% Nikki Sivils papers and products.  It doesn't matter if it's an old collection or a new one, we want to see them all!!

Leave a link to your blog post or gallery with a picture of your completed challenge entry on this post by September 29th.  We will pick one winner and announce them on September 30th, when we announce the next challenge. The winner will get to pick one of the new collections kits of their choosing!

Get to playing, we can't wait to see what you create and scrap about!

Have a Scrappy Kinda Day!!~~Katrina

Diva Time!

I don't know about you, but it has been a heck of a week for me!  Emergency vet visits for all three dogs, which all are fine and doing better now.  They all managed to sprain a leg, with the two boys the exact same one.  Ella, on the other hand, hyper-extended hers so it was a little more severe.  Then computer hard-drive was failing, so off to buy a new one.  This has seriously cut into my scrapping time!!

BUT, the other Divas have been super, super busy and I have lots to show you.  So, lets get to it!

First up is Lea Albers.  Altered printer trays are hot right now and Lea did a fabulous job on this one with the My Lil Monsters collection.

She mounted items on foam board so that they would stand up.  Which I am loving this idea and might have to borrow it from her!  In her detail shots, you can see exactly what she did.

Next up is Linda Beeson.  She is usually a Card girl, but here she is showing us that she can create more than just cards!  She has created two layouts for us this month.  This one is with the
 It's Raining, It's Pouring collection.

Linda's Layout Removed for Publication!!!!!
Linda used her Cricut Expression on this layout.
She did the title witht the Stamping Cartridge cutting it at 2 inches.

And then she used the Storybook cartridge for her flourish cutting at 5 inches.

And then Linda used our new collection, Get Well Soon for this adorable layout.
And I love the pictures on this layout!

I love the trail of die cuts behind the ambulance!

Next up is Rae Barthel.  She has created a BUNCH of fun stuff with the School is Cool collection!!!

This pencil holder was a HIT at CHA on our Make n Take table.  You can't see it, but the pencils are glued around an empty coffee can.  We had people grabbing the pencils on the outside, because you couldn't see down in it!  Everyone was laughing about it.

And to go along with the pencil container, she created this sticky note holder.  What great back to school gifts for your kid's teachers...hee hee, or yourself!

And here is a card to go along with the gift!!

A fun little bookmark!

An altered mini composition book.  This is adorable!!

And a cute little card to give your "smarty pants" after a good day at school!

Next up we have a couple of our Internation Divas that are joining in our post today with Lea, Rae, and Linda!

First is Ria Mojica, with an fun layout about her son dressing up in costume!  I want a mask like that!

She used the My Lil Monster collection, which is PERFECT for documenting things like this!

And last but not least is Mette Kallander.  She used the Get Well Soon collection to create a layout about her sick computer.  I know how she feels in that area!!!!

We took the month of July off for the monthly challenge, but it will be back again at the end of this month.  I will tell you, there is a hint in this blog post about the challenge!!
I will let you try to figure it out!

Also, tomorrow we have a special blog posting for someone special, so please come back.  This is something that we want EVERYONE to join us in.  Look for that post on Monday!
