"Tree Love" Layout and a Spooky Banner

Hi Everyone! Jennifer Yates here on the blog today! I've got a couple of fun project to show you using the Nikki Sivils "Tree Love Collection AND her super cute "Boo-tiful" Line!!!

First up...This is a layout of my neighbors daughter, Sydney and her friends.  She had just turned 13 (she was TWO when we moved in!!!) and had her first "official" sleepover!!  I snapped this photo of all the girls in front of their house and thought it would be perfect to coordinate with the "Tree Love" Collection.  How sweet are they?  I don't remember looking that cute at 13!  I think awkward would be the better word! LOL!

I love taking the circle stickers from the Tree Love Cardstock Sticker Sheet and using my pop dots to give them added dimension on the layout!

Next up is a "ghostly" project I did using the ever so popular Ghost Chipboard Album!!!  CK even gave it some love...see it here! 

Halloween is just around the corner and this SPOOKY Banner is a  perfect way to decorate your mantle!

I found this somewhat difficult to photograph, so I hope you can see these photos okay. ;)

The banner was assembled by using the cropadile on each of the ghost hands, placing the hands together and tying a knot to secure it.

Back to School!

It's been a couple weeks since I've been back to school and it's been very busy and very exciting around our house.  I am an elementary art teacher and I'm always looking for ways to add fun elements to my classroom.  Over the summer, I wanted to make new "rules" posters for my room and since I love Nikki's Willow Bee line so much, I decided to use the remainder of my stash to create fun letters for my art room rules.  Here's a little peek at how they turned out:

 It's not the best photo of the posters but you can see that I played with my new Slice machine and cut letters from the Willow Bee line.  I liked the play on the word "Be"...  It was not wasted on my little students.  They loved them!

The week before school started, I threw a "Back to School" party for my son and a few of his friends.  I made cupcakes and used Nikki's craft flags to add fun decoration to them.  I stamped her apple stamp from Henry's Brilliance line too.  They came out so cute and everyone loved them.

 I just started using the My Friend Birdie line and had a blast cutting out the banner and little circles for the border.  I love the colors and decided to create a page about my youngest son and my mom, who is called Nonna. 
 

I hope you are having a wonderful new school year and hope you enjoyed my little projects this month.  I will be taking October off from blogging here but I will share some more fun projects in November using the new lines!

PAPERTWINING TREE LOVE

Hello everyone!  This is Janis blogging here at Nikki Sivils once again!!!  Welcome to another showcasing edition (this is my fourth actually - - I have done Willow Bee, Dan the Record Man, and My Friend Birdie - - showcasing is sooo much fun I hope to be able to do it monthly!!!!) and this time I'll be showcasing Tree Love with a twist - - I incorporated paper twines on all my three layouts!!!!

SHOWCASING TREE LOVE

While my usual scrapbooking subjects on my NS layouts are my kids and my nephews, I couldn't help but use Tree Love on my recent photos with my friends.  Here's the first one:

Boo-tiful!!

Did you know Nikki has a great Halloween collection? It's called Boo-tiful. This blogpost I wanted to showcase this great collection.
Since we don't really celebrate halloween over here in the Netherlands, I first thought I couldn't use this collection.
But, I will show you a layout where you can see these papers are also perfect for other photos!
Ofcourse I did want to show you the Halloween functions, so I created 2 cards as well.

A little Tree Lovin...

Hello! Delaina here...I just have to tell you that I am in love with Nikki's "Tree Love" collection. It has the most awesome color combination for Fall that I have seen around...and the little beaver is adorable.

Here are a few LOs that I created using this line...

Nikki Sivils = "Must-have products for your scrapbooking!"

Hi everyone!  Is anyone besides me wishing that we were actually having some fall-like weather?  Where I live the forecast says it's going to be close to 90 degrees all week.  Booooo for that. 

But... rather than be annoyed with the above-average temperatures, I thought I'd get out my Tree Love line & scrap some photos from last year's visit to a pumpkin patch! 

I used a sheet from the 6x6 paper pad for my journaling card.  I printed my journaling from Word onto the paper, added the "My Favorite Time" cut-out and then used my border punch to finish it off...

I made my own flag banner for my title using a circle punch + some baker's twine.  For my tree, I used a flower punch & just kept layering them to add some extra texture.  I ♥ Bucky the Beaver...

And... just a little shout-out here!  If you read Creating Keepsakes magazine, you may have already seen this in the current issue!  Nikki's ghost mini album made the "Latest & Greatest" column as one of the 10 must-have products for your scrapbooking!

BooVille- My Halloween Costume Mini Book

I love Halloween.  It's so much fun and my kids always enjoy dressing up in their costumes and running around the neighborhood collecting candy.  I created this little brag book to document the special costumes that my kids have had throughout the years.  I actually only got about 6 years worth in this little book so I guess I will be making another.  

My mom, who always made me my costumes each year has continued the tradition with her grandchildren.  Each year they go to the fabric store and pick out what they want to be and the fabric to make it with.  I am so proud of my mom and her sewing abilities that I wanted to create a little book dedicated to her work each year.

Each set of pages show pictures of my kids for that year.  This was Halloween 1999.

I used Nikki's Halloween line in the 6x6 paper pad to cover the house chipboard book.  The paper pads are the perfect size for the chipboard books.  This house book cuts out really quick because all of the straight lines.

I love all of the fun cutouts too.  These are available on the 12x12 individual papers.  The small bat, pumpkins, and strip of bats are some of the cutouts that you can use.

Each one of the papers in this Halloween line is fun and perfect for any costume pictures.

This last black page will be where I will put my journaling of the stories behind each costume.  I love that the kids will know each of these stories, event the ones where they are so little that they don't really even remember the trick or treating.

Here is one of my stories.  In the picture above, my son, decided that he could deal with a sword and cape so my mom and me picked this medieval costume.  He was about 5 and I figured that this was probably the last year that I would be able to get him into tights.  (Fun story about that too but I figure that I won't embarrass him too bad on the internet.  So we told him he was Zoro and as he is running through the neighborhood we would run into people we knew and they would ask him what he was.    With a confident shout and a point of his sword he would say to anyone that asked, "I'm Zero!"  Many laughs followed.  It is these stories and more that I hope to preserve for my kids and my mom who so loving sewed each of costumes year after year.

Bluberry Hill

Have you tried Nikki Sivils mini 6" x 6" ? they are so versatile. Each mini pad has 3 sheets of each pattern paper, all full sized patterns reduced to 6" x 6"!
Perfect for making mini books, cards and altered picture frames!

Picture Frames I hear you cry! I love Ikea and on a recent visit I picked up a few of these square picture frames, measuring 51/2" sqaure the mini pads were perfect for me to work with.

I chose Bluberry Hill to work with, selected some of my favourite papers, the diecut sheet and a few embellishments to work with. Simple layering, strips of paper and a few diecut shapes popped and I had a mini work of art!

September Guest Designer Yuko Motoyama!

Hello there!  My name is Yuko Motoyama (Scrappin' Yuko), living in Chiba, Japan where you'd find Tokyo disney land near by:D

I have been married to my husband for 8 years and we have 2 wonderful kids, Seita (boy) almost 7 and Saki (girl) is 4.

They are now more like my best friends who has their own choices and tastes, I am so blessed to have them and staying home for them everyday.

I have worked in film industry as a film buyer until my boy was born and it was such a fun job to fly across the world and be there for new releases, and got to meet some celebrities at film festivals;D  It wasn't an easy decision to give it up but I am now so content to be able to spend much time with my kids ,scrapbooking, reading and just simply enjoying everyday life.

Right now I am part of fabulous Design Team for Pencil Lines (PL) and Japanese challenge blog Scrap x Scrap (scrap2) .

dressing it up...

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!  Here to share two projects with you using "Something for Everyone" and "Blueberry Hill".  I love dressing up altered items and templates, which I find myself doing more often these days.
