Sweet Ellie's Day Out!

Hi everyone, it's Ria Mojica again! Today I am sharing with you 3 LOs I made using Ellie's Day Out. I so love the sweet pastel colors...makes me feel so girly.

The 1st LO is my Mother's Day LO, titled "I am....Mom".
  • I used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes in the scallop die-cut paper to match the border on the cardstock photo mat.
  • I also enjoyed playing with my border punches to create different ribbon strips. The green rikrak was made using the Treading Water punch, while the pink strip was made using the Apron Lace punch.
  • I used the heart stamp from "Will He B The 1?" and heat embossed it in white to finish my LO.

The 2nd LO is titled "Bag Ladies" featuring a photo of me with my mom and 2 sisters.

Years ago, before I was married, we used to spend whole week-ends shopping together. But now that I'm married (e.g. less shopping time and cash) and my 2 sisters live in New York, this is something we can't do anymore. Until last Jan 2010 when my mom treated our whole family to a trip to Hong Kong. I am so lucky that my hubby agreed to stay with the kids and let me shop with my mom and sisters like we used to do.

The 3rd LO is of my daughter Nadya. She is growing up way too fast for me and is getting more and more into clothes and fashion (even if she insists that she doesn't like fashion!)...she can't help it, I guess, after all, she does take after me.

That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed looking at my LOs and are similarly inspired by this sweet collection from Nikki Sivils.

celebrating dad

TGIF, right?
Hey y'all, it's Rae Barthel blogging today :)

Father's Day is fast approaching, and this year I will NOT be late
getting my Father's Day cards made!!
That's because I have them done NOW
and I'd love to share them with you!

Now you know that
Dan the Record Man
is the PERFECT line to use for Father's Day cards, right?

'you spin me right 'round' card

Here I used arrow die cuts, a record player,
and patterned paper from the
Dan the Record Man collection.
Add a computer-generated sentiment, and voila,
instant Father's Day card!
I'm planning on giving this one to my ♥hubby♥!
_______________________________________

'rock star dad' card
I kept this one a little simple, just adding some
stamped sentiments to the gorgeous patterned paper.
My husband will be giving this card to his dad, who has
just been released from the hospital. He has really been
a 'rock star' through his long hospital stay!!
____________________________________________

'my dad rocks' card
Thought that this one would be perfect for the kids to give
to dear 'old' dad! They tease him relentlessly about this taste in music,
so it will actually be quite funny for him to receive!!
Again here I used more die cuts from the collection, and added the
record player border. Just added a few alpha stickers to
create the sentiment.
___________________________________________

'Rock & Roll dad' card
Those record player adapter thing-a-ma-bobs just
crack me up!! This card will be perfect to give to my dad!!
I will remind him that I totally remember those adapters lying
around by the record player and listening to his Rolling Stones albums
as a kid!!!!
I love that record paper too!! Just think, kids these days have NO clue
what records are!! The die cut stars were the perfect embellishment
for the card!!
_________________________________________

Feeling inspired to get a jump start on your Father's Day cards?
Don't look further than the
Dan the Record Man collection
it has ALL you need to make some
'rockin' cards for Dad!!

Until next time....
~♥~

From a favorite movie to a Father's Day project...

Hello, it is Nathalie here today sharing with you my latest projects with Nikki's collections.
I created this 6X12 page (one of my favorite format) using the fun Will He B the 1 collection. With its yellow tickets, popcorn prints and pink papers, it was perfect for this page that I have been meaning to do about a family favorite:

You can click to enlarge
You see, in our family, we are often caught laughing out loud when quoting silly sentences from the Pink Panther (which has been viewed many times) and I am very glad to have made a page about it so that my kids will remember that!

Loving the yellow and grey combo of many of the patterned papers in Dan The Record Man, I was super inspired to use it for a Father's Day project I had in mind for my husband. I asked my kids to come up with a few sentences about their dad (like "I love it when you take me fishing" or "You're awesome Dad!") and printed them to make paper strips. I then created fortune cookies using the 6X6 mini paddie inserting the strips as I folded them.

Finally, I purchased a chinese take out box (less than $2 at Michael's) and covered it using two sheets of Hear the Beat. Added a tag (from the Record Cutie cut-ups) and there you have a fun and personalized gift for Father's Day!

ETA: I have added a tutorial for my Father's Day project (including the fortune cookies) on my blog:

Hi all! Mimi here as your blog hostess of the day! I just wanted to share a few projects with you.

I am in love with Nikki's line Dan the Record Man. It is so versatile! I created this layout of my brother's puppy Jake. Is he not the cutest?

Spellbinders did a fun product swap with the design team and I was thrilled to get a few embossing impressabilites...these are so darn fun! For this layout I laid a die over some cardstock and with a make-up sponge I inked over it. I then punched some circle out of the cardstock...super easy way to make your own unique embellishments. Thank you so much Spellbinders!

Here is a little detail shot...

I also used a die to emboss over metal tape. I think it makes for a great effect...very masculine too! Just in time for Father's Day!

This is kind of tough to see...sorry! The glare off metal tape makes it tough to get a picture of.

Last but not least I wanted to share a card I made for someone that has been having a rough couple of weeks. I used spray inks to color the flowers and then laid the punched circle over them...added a few dots of stickles for fun...so pretty I think!

Hope you are all having a great Monday! Thanks for stopping by!

We love to shop

Hello Nikki Sivils fans, how are you doing today? Is your day as sunny and warm as it is here in the Netherlands? I've walked through our garden early this morning, and all you could here were the birds singing. I hope we finally get some spring here. It has been too cold the last couple of weeks, we so need the sun!
So now talk scrapbooking,
Last month I made this layout with the Ellie's Day Out line.
This line is so sweet with all the soft colors, the shoes and the bags. I sure love shoes and bags!
And our daughter is just like me on this. Even when she was little she loved to shop.
So this time I made a second page to the titled page.

All Nikki Sivils products except for the Doily and Ranger's Distress Ink (spun suger)
I kept this one a bit more Simple Style.

Thank you for looking and hope to see you here next month when it will be this DT's last post on the NS blog.
Have a great weekend!

Hello there ! it's Michele Beck here today...

I am sure it's the same for you !
Think about this wonderful paper you bought a few days (weeks?!) ago, this amazing brads you were dying for... and that you have never used!

Me, it's stamps.
I love stamps. I really mean it. How could i not love it? look at this one, or this one... aren't they toooo cute ?
what is too cool with stamps is that you can use it in so many ways...

I don't know...
But today, i have challenged myself to make a page with lots of stamps!
So i take my Nikki Sivils Stamps, and i did it !

Waking up...

Here in Sweden it feels like summer today.
The nature is waking up again after the long and really cold winter.
I really love this time of the year. :)

Today it´s me Mette again, and I´m here to show you a few layouts I´ve done.

The first layout is one with me and my cute little niece Tyra.
We really had some fun infront of the camera. :D
For this layout I used the line Willow Bee.

The second layout is one with me doing the happy-jump at Nothern Ireland.
I was so happy to finally get to go there and see all that beauty for myself.
It has been a dream for so many years.
For this layout I used the line Bella Blue and Oscar too.

The third and last layout today is one with my DH.
He really rocks my world!:)
For this one I used the line Dan the Record Man.

Enjoy the warm sun and Happy Scrapping!

Hugs!

Guy cards....

I've been sitting here contemplating. Should I or should I not tell on myself about forgetting to post last month? Nah!! I'll keep it to myself. See what happens when you're so busy having fun creating. Time slips away. You wanna know the really sad part? I just realized a week or so ago that I had actually missed it. I'm so sorry! Hopefully, never again ladies!! :)

On a better note. Today's card was created just for today's post. Since I rarely have masculine cards on hand. I thought I would put Victoria's Street collection to use. And this card is the result. The Victoria's Street collection has some awesome papers that work perfectly for masculine cards. The warm tones are fabulous!

I don't know about y'all. But this month has been and continues to be SUPER hectic! The end of the school year is jam packed with activities this year. It's hard for me to find time to fit it all in and stay "on top" of everything in the process!! Thankfully, the end is in sight. We're counting the days! We can't wait until we get to sleep in a little bit!! Mornings don't like me! Never have! Probably never will!! And to be honest, the feeling is mutual! :)

Have a happy Wednesday!

My girls always willing to be photographed

I am blessed with 2 girls who like to let their photo taken. I couldn't imagine not having so many photos. But maybe I'm spoiled...LOL.
So I guess I should start doing some more mini albums to scrap all those photos. ( thats what you probably will see on my next months blogpost ;-) )

The first layout is from my eldest girl Amy. She's showing one of her presents she got from her birthday last October.
I used Ellie's Day Out for this layout. I love the pastel colors which go perfect with the photo. I added lots of ink to get more depth.
Of course the cute buttons couldn't be left out!

The other layout shows my younger daughter Fenna. She can look like an angel but she's a spicy girl! But she loves to hug me and cuddle. She's kissable as the title tells you.
I used the Will He B the 1 collection. Also added some cute buttons and cardstock stickers.
And I love the font stamps Nikki Sivils has. They are perfect to create a title!

Next month I think I will show you a mini album. I better start working on it then. With 2 birthdays coming up I really need to start.
Hope you are in a scrappy mood to?! Then you better look at the DT call!! ( see post on the beginning of this month)

Have a great day!

Celebrate Girls

Good Morning! Laura here this month to share with you a couple of projects that I hope will inspire you and get your creative juices going!

First project uses the Ellie's Day Out collection. I love the soft feminine colors and feel to this line plus it's so up to date with some of my favorite things...shoes and purses!

I used our preferred partner Spellbinders to create the flowers. I love the layering the dies affords and the ease of use!

The next project is using the Will He B the 1 collection. I was able to utilize the packaging from the cardstock stickers to create a one of a kind sleeve frame for my photo.

I also created one of a kind fabric flowers using Fabric Stiffener and Draping Liquid by Helmar USA . Helmar has a fantastic line of adhesives for all your paper crafting needs!

Bee good, bee happy...

Hi there, it's Michele Beck here, with some projects to share with you :)

You know, i love making mini album, cards or all that kind of project, but i am definitely a page maker, yes, i think i feel myself more creative in front of a 12/12 paper lol !

Our May Guest Designer: Monika Martinson!

My name is Monika Martinson and I live in Sweden, just outside of Stockholm with my daughter, who is now 6, and her father. I have been scrapping since 2004, when my DD was born.

Up till a few months ago I would have said that my scrap style is shabby- chic-romantic, with lots of layers, torn paper and flowers. However all of the sudden I got bored of myself and I started experimenting with a different style and a different size. Nikki Sivils papers would not have been my first choice for my previous style but now… Well, it was love at first sight when I got my guest dt-kit.

Layout: “Dresses”
This layout would probably best represent my older scrap style. It was so much fun to play with all the cute embellishments that I almost couldn´t stop. The layout is about how difficult I find it to buy clothes now that my body doesn´t look as it ought to. I guess I`m the only one around here with that problem?

Layout: “Mössa” – in English “Hat”
On this layout I used so many patterns I could. The flower pattern was downloaded from the internet and I also added a few flowers. I printed the title on one of the PP:s. To make them look like chipboard, I glued layers of CS together.
This layout is about how much my DD loves her hats, very much unlike her mother.

Cards
I am totally in love with these patterns and they are so perfect for cards. My cards are “Good Luck” cards for colleagues that are quitting their jobs.
On two of the cards I made my own rose, really easy and a lot of fun. A warning though – if you start, you might spend a lot of hours doing them, they are definitely addictive
.

Let's Mix It Up...

I love to mix and match collections. There is just so much to love about each one and can’t resist the urge to bring them altogether in one project.
Nikki Supplies:
Paper: Elle’s Day Out, Victoria’s Secret, Will He Be The 1, Willow Bee
Stamps: Willie Bee Alpha, U R My Favorite, Willow Bee
Embellishments: Warm Cord Brads
Other: metal rings and chipboard from album kit
To create this bee I used my Spellbinder die cuts on chip board and paper to layer on top.
Nikki Supplies:
Paper: Elle’s Day Out, U R My Favorite, Will He Be The 1, Dan The Record Man
Stamps: Elle’s Day Out, Dan The Record Man, Will He Be The 1
Embellishments: Burlap Buttons – Red
I created borders using the record stamp and heart stamp (as listed above). Perfect for creating your own unique scalloped accents.
Nikki Supplies:
Paper: Elle’s Day Out, Will He Be The 1
Stamps: U R My Favorite, Flaming Butterfly, My Sweet Cherry Pie
I used the horseshoe in the My Sweet Cherry Pie stamp set to create two borders as shown above.

Hope you enjoyed the post and thank you for stopping by!
