Well, I think it's about time to celebrate some card making!!!!

Hey everyone, Katrina here with some FABULOUS work from the Card Team and the Local Design Team!!!

I have so much to share, that I am just going to get right to it!

First up is Rae Barthel....and she has gotten a little Boo-tiful for her projects!!!!  Be sure to visit Rae's blog for all sorts of inspiration and wonderful cards....She makes these look so great and easy!!!!

How cute is that???  Rae used a piece of the Ghost Chipboard album on the front of this card!  All of Nikki's chipboard albums are 6x6 approximately, so you could use any of them for the front of a card!
And this card uses some of the Cutie Cut-Ups.  The Cut-Ups make fast work of making a card or embellishment for a page!
Let's just say I am a sucker for some gingham ribbon!!!!
This house doesn't look too spooky do you think?!

Next up, I think it's beginning to look like Christmas!!!!  The talented Linda Beeson is already getting started for the Christmas season with a couple of Christmas cards for us!!!  And Linda's blog is full of all kinds of ideas, so be sure to visit her too!  These are from the Happy Holly-Days Collection.   Take a look at these.....
Who doesn't love nutcrackers??  Linda also used Cut-Ups on her cards!!!
And Linda took the Holly Wreath circle die cut and used it for her scallops....no border punch here!!!  How great, you could take a bunch of these circle die cuts to a crop and not have to haul your entire border punch collection....not mentioning any names on who might do that.....(me!).

I am going to jump in now...because believe it or not, I have made some cards recently!!  It was World Card Making Day after all!!!  I used some of the newer collections, but I also used one of the older ones,

This is a shaker card....they are pretty easy to make and fun to shake!!!

The Ellie's Day Out collection makes sweet birthday cards!

This is from the Tree Love collection...this is one of my FAVORITES!!!  Try using a simply tag on your card as an embellishment, pop dot it for added dimension!

Blueberry Hill is so bright and cheery.  Perfect paper for a pick me up card!

Now we have Karen Taylor from the local team. Just a little more Boo-tiful going on here!!! She has created a tag and a card this time!  Karen's blog is located here.  Be sure to visit her too!
I LOVE this card!!!  That flower almost looks like it needs some water don't you think?
And what a cute vintage tag!  This would be neat to stick a gift card in for that special trick or treater!

And last, but certainly not least is Lea Albers.  Lea is from the Netherlands and she creates some amazing stuff!!  Her blog is here.
Lea has created some "PocketCards" as she calls them...now why can't I think of things like this?!  These are super cute and really easy to do!!! She used the My Friend Birdie Collection for these!  She also mixed the 12x12 papers and the 6x6 minipads!!!

Both of the cards only took a half of one of the Chirp Chat circle die cuts!!
This first card she took the half die cut and sealed it to make a pocket, then used one of the minipad sheets for the card to slip inside!
For this one, Lea took the other half of the die sheet and folded into thirds.  Super Cute!!!!  And then she used another mini pad sheet to make the card!  Lea has also used the Cute as a Button Buttons on her cards also!!!

Well, that's it from me and the girls!  I hope we have inspired you to get some Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker paper and start creating some of these fun projects!  That's it for us this month...we will see you next month with some more fun stuff!!!

Have a Scrappy Kinda Day!!

sew cute boo-tiful

Hello Everyone!
Hope you´re having a great wednesday, I sure am!  Today I´ll show you how I used the supercute Boo-tiful collection... I don´t have any Halloweenthemed photos to scrap but I always love the Halloween papers.. So I always try to find ways to use those papers for other layouts...

I took the trick or treat smell my feet paper and cut out a bunch of circles.. glued them on  the going batty paper and cut them out again... Took my scalloped border punch to make a cute strip of the frightening paper.. and the cute arrows are from the boo-tiful Cutie cut ups.
and of course I used my sewing machine to add the details to make it just pefect! ....

I would love to see if anyone else uses these supercute halloweenpapers for nonhalloweenthemed-layouts =D

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great day!

It's a Boo-tiful Monday!

It's a Boo-tiful Monday here at Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker and I have some really fun projects to share in getting ready for one of my very favorite holidays: Halloween.  I think I have more fun scrapbooking photos for this festive celebration than any other holiday.  How can you not love black, orange, purple and green all mixed up together???  I'm getting a little giddy anticipating the end of this month and another year of photos.  What are your super cute little stinkers going to be this year?
Aren't these Boo-tiful papers and embellishments so much fun???  I love the bright colors mixed with the distressing and the ghosts are pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself.   Perfect for my little spooky girl.  She loves this holiday as much as I do and still insists on wearing her costumes all year round.
I mixed one of Nikki's cute little Craft Flags in with the ghosts and added the sentiment, "Boo!"  I also inked the edges with some chalk ink to make the white flag stand out more against the spooky white ghost.  Then I tied on a little polka dot bow for some added fun.
Nikki's Burlap Buttons make the perfect finishing touch by adding a little interest and texture to the layout.  The thing I love most about these, is you just stick the little suckers right onto the project.  No sewing necessary and no need to add adhesive.  I also used my Cricut to cut this shape in the striped paper to break up the squareness of the layout and then used the shadow feature to cut the black mat.
Nikki adds so many cute embellishments right into her papers.  I used a 1 1/2 inch circle punch to pull this pumpkin out of one of the papers.  Then I inked the edges and pop-dotted it to make it stand out more.
This card completely cracks me up!  I used one of the chipboard ghosts from Nikki's awesome Ghost Mini album that is currently being featured in this month's Creating Keepsake Magazine (see below).  I am a big fan of Nikki's 6x6 patterned papers and this striped paper is the perfect background for this spooky little guy.  I cut the sign from the embellishment page in Nikki's Boo-tiful papers and added the sentiment with some of her sticker letters from the Tree Love Collection.
Can you see it in the Number 1 spot???  We are all very excited about being featured, especially since we know how much fun Nikki's Chipboard Mini Albums are.  Make sure you check out the others HERE.
I'll close it out with one more card.  I can't seem to get enough of these frightening little ghosts, so I had to add them to the bottom of this card along with a big "Boo" sentiment which I cut with my Cricut using more of the 6x6 Boo-tiful patterned papers.  Hope you all have as much fun creating this month as I am...and don't forget to grab some of Nikki's Boo-tiful collection before it is all gone :)

Thank you so much for stopping by - Liz

mixing up!

Hi, I am Wendela from the Netherlands and this is my very first blogpost here at Nikki's blog! How cool! I'm so happy to work with those beautiful papers. I LOVE the colours and the Retro Style of it.

Today I mixed 3 lines.....did you find them??

Here in this layout I used Boo-tiful, a small scalopped piece, My friend Birdie and Tree love...

Look at my home made flowers! Do you like them? It's really easy to do! Grab some embroidery thread and wind I think 5 times around 3 of your fingers. Use five fingers when you love to make a large flower, and two or maybe one finger when you love a smaller one. Then make a knot in the middle, add a brown corduroy brad in the middle, shape the petals and your flower is ready for use.

And here again the three lines Boo-tiful, My Friend Birdie and Tree Love. I LOVE the small blue burlap buttons, they are so CUTE!

Thanks for stopping by,
with love from the Netherlands,
XOX Wendela

Boo-tiful!!

Hello everyone!
It's me again, Lea from the Netherlands. Although we do not have Halloween, I have made some Halloween Cards. I love the colors, pumpkins and dressing up as belonging to a Halloween party, a great pity that we do not celebrate. I have used the Halloween Line Boo-tiful from Nikki Sivils, both the normal sheets and the minipad.
On this card I used 2 different pattern sheets nicely screwed together, then gently tear again. I used also some chipboard letters for the title. The ghosts come from the Boo-tiful Cutie Cut-Ups.

On the next card I used the 'Boo-sheet', I cut the corners of the sheet and make a new small squared. The spider is cut from Boo-tiful Cutie Cut-Ups, and I stuck it on a Bread(less) Tab. I also used an burlap button. Don't you think the spider looks real? ieeeeeeeeeeeee

I love making matching envelopes, here I have some matching pictures cut out and pasted on black envelopes
Halloween candy can't go without. So I made this treat. To create a window, I used a nestabillitie.

I would appreciate it if you show your Halloween cards.
Thanks for coming along today.
With a scary greeting, Lea

Making history with Nikki Sivils...

Yep. That's what I'm doing. I'm gonna make history with Nikki Sivils by posting my blog entry today... September 28th. Throughout history, big things have happened on September 28th. For example:

September 28, 1745 - Bonnie Prince Charlie becomes king of Scotland

September 28, 1928 - 1st recording session in Nashville

September 28, 1932 - New York Yankees win World Series

September 28, 1956 - RCA Records reports Elvis Presley sold over 10 million records

September 28, 1968 - Beatles' "Hey Jude" single goes #1

September 28, 1970 - Anwar Sadat replaces Egyptian President Nassar

September 28, 1994 - "Cats" 5,000th Broadway performance

And now today...

September 28, 2010 - Julie Howard posts two totally random layouts on Nikki Sivils' blog

It's truly a day for the history books. I believe this post calls for paid time off work, cookouts and, dare I say it? Fireworks.

Yes. I *am* one strange bird. I make no excuses for it. In order to survive the craziness of day to day life, I attempt to find the humor in everything. If I can't laugh at the absurdity of some situations, I could just as easily find myself in tears. So in my life, I've learned to keep a light heart and to laugh!

Oh... and if it wasn't obvious, I used the My Friend Birdie
collection for this layout. The letters are from some other manufacturers which I will not mention here. Bwah!

Now for the next layout, you'll be very surprised at the two collections I mixed. I decided to use:

Boo-tiful and Blueberry Hill

See... I told you I was a strange bird. But seriously! Don't they look fabulous together?!

This is my niece, Chelsea. Clearly, she has a flair for the dramatic. Nooooo idea where she gets that from. Whenever she visits her Grandma's house she always leaves behind a new message on the chalkboard in the kitchen. This "I will be discovered" note was left for her Grandma this past May. Years from now we'll all be able to look back on this and say, 'We knew her when.'

Just as years from now you'll be able to look back on this date in history and say, 'Hey! September 28, 2010 is the date that Julie Howard posted two completely random layouts to Nikki Sivils' blog!'

All mixed up

Hey everyone,

It seems like I've been waiting for my post FOR-EVER!!!!  My last post was way back in August, and I won't be posting in October, so.............I thought I better give it to you with both barrels this month.  I decided to create several different layouts for this post, showcasing as many Product Lines/Collections that I possibly could & mixing things up a bit.

Here goes....................

12:  Boo-tiful & Pocket of Treats {title tag}.

Backyard Lessons:  Tree Love, Willow Bee, My Sweet Cherry Pie, Victoria's StreetBurlap Buttons & packaging (title tag), Cardstock Stickers (title).
fall glow:  Blueberry Hill, Ellie's Day Out, Tree Love, My Sweet Cherry Pie, Victoria's Street, Cardstock Stickers & Pocket of Treats.
Touch football:  Tree Love, My Friend Birdie, Cardstock Stickers & Burlap Buttons.
Wide Open Spaces: Tree Love, Boo-tiful, My Sweet Cherry Pie, U R My Favorite & Pocket of Treats.
Hopefully I have inspired you to dip into ALL the Nikki Sivils Scrapbookers product lines that you own and begin to use them altogether in your layouts, cards & projects.

Have fun trying to find these layouts in the gallery -- I'm not quite sure WHICH COLLECTION I will be showcasing them in {??!?}.

Now.......get out that fabulous NS paper you've been saving for a fun day of scrappin'.........and don't forget to mix it up a bit!!!!!!

Have fun.
