We are doing a little Hootin' here today!

Who is going to admit it with me that you are ALREADY listening to Christmas music?  I know, it is probably WAY too early, but I have been listening to it for well over two weeks.  And not to mention that I pulled the White Christmas DVD out and popped it in the player while working on something for December.

Well, today we are going to do a little You're A Hoot.  Lea Albers and I have some projects for you.

First up, I have a layout and a card with the You're A Hoot collection.  On the layout I used the Warm Cord Brads and on the card I used the Cute as a Button Burlap buttons.

Now for Lea Albers fun project with her instructions on making it.  It is an adorable calendar that is for the first half of the year and then the backside is for the second half of the year.  We are going to show just the first side for you....

She got the template for the calendar pages from a Google document that is available to anyone.  You can find that HERE.  She used chipboard for the background that measured 10.5 by 12 inches and just placed a background paper on top of it.

The measurements of the individual months are listed out below.  She just printed them out on white cardstock from her printer.

  • January is 8 x 6 inch

  • February is 8 x 7 inch

  • March is 8 x 8 inch
  • April is 8 x 9 inch
  • May is 8 x 10 inch
  • June is 8 x 11 inch
And then just repeat for the remaining months!

How cute would this be out of ANY Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker collection and used as a gift for Christmas or a hostess gift?!

Don't forget, we have an OPEN DESIGN TEAM CALL going on RIGHT NOW.  You can find out all the details, requirements and how to apply on this post HERE.

We have lots of cards, a layout, and a game to share with everyone today, so let's get to it.

Now we have Lea Albers with a couple of cards using My Lil' Monster

Linda Beeson made this adorable windowpane card with My Lil' Monster also.

Then finally, I have a couple of double page layouts to share with you using My Lil' Monster

Anyone need to Get Well Soon?!

Today from the Divas, we have a bunch of Get Well Soon projects, with a My Lil Monster snuck in.  And all of our Divas use the Cute as a Button Burlap buttons!  So, let's get to it!

First up is Mette Kallander with a layout about her son!  Funny story, when she sent it to me I thought she said her son made the layout...and then I thought..HECK he is a cutie!!  LOL

Mette used My Lil' Monster on this layout along with new Punch Outs!

Next up we have Lea Albers.  She has done a layout and some cards with the Get Well Soon collection, let's see what she has been up to!

How adorable is this?  You know baby doesn't feel good by those red cheeks, but is still smiling.

And here are some Get Well Soon cards, which are always good to have on hand!

Now is Linda Beeson with a Get Well Soon card also.  She used her Cricut Expression to cut the card.  She used the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge for all her cuts.

Gotta love that pill bottle!

And speaking of Cricuts, cards and Get Well Soon...I used my Cricut Expression along with the Elegant Edges cartridge to cut out my card!

I also used the Get Well Soon stamp collection that is a Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker and Unity Stamp Co. Co-Brand set!

And then I did a layout about colliding with the back fence and needing stitches!

You have to love camera phones for those other wised missed shots while sitting in Urgent Care waiting to be seen!

And last, but not least Rae has a BUNCH of adorable cards to share today out of the Get Well Soon collection!

And Rae showed us the inside of the card above!  It's just as cute as the front!

That's it from us today.  Hopefully we have inspired you to create some get well soon cards of your own!

It's Challenge Time!!!

It's Katrina and our monthly challenge is back this month.  We took last month off with all the CHA madness going on, but we are back at it and the Diva's rocked it this month!

I issued the following challenge to the Divas:

Scrap an Object
For this months challenge you can use any collection or combination of collections you like.  The challenge is to scrap something that you normally do not scrap. No kids, no pets, no events, etc.  Scrap your favorite book, drink, phone, etc.  As long as it is not a live object you are good!

So, remember when I posted there was a hint in the one of the blog posts
about the challenge?
Well, here is the layout that was the hint!

Mette scrapped her sick computer with the Get Well Soon collection!!

School is in everyone's minds right now and a couple of our Divas scrapped school supplies!
They both used the School is Cool collection for their layouts.

Julie Tucker-Wolek scrapped her son's school books!

And then Leah Farquharson scrapped her kids new school supplies!

Next up we have Jill Hildebrand with a layout featuring her kids art work!
Jill used the My Lil Monster collection to showcase her "Art Monster"!

Then a couple of Divas scrapped food, which I think is always fun to do!

Lea Albers used the School is Cool collection to create a layout about taking
a cake decorating workshop!

Then Ria Mojica scrapped some of her family's favorite food...Spam!  Which is probably strange to us Americans, but it's a very popular item where she lives!

She used School is Cool also!

And then there are a few of us Divas (this is including Mette above!) that might
be a just little attached to the technology in our lives!

Deana Boston created this layout about her iPad!
She used the My Lil Monster's collection.

I laughed when I got Deana's layout in my email, because my layout is
about my iPad and new computer!  I used School is Cool on mine.

So now you know what your challenge is!  Scrap an object using the guidelines above using at least 75% Nikki Sivils papers and products.  It doesn't matter if it's an old collection or a new one, we want to see them all!!

Leave a link to your blog post or gallery with a picture of your completed challenge entry on this post by September 29th.  We will pick one winner and announce them on September 30th, when we announce the next challenge. The winner will get to pick one of the new collections kits of their choosing!

Get to playing, we can't wait to see what you create and scrap about!

Have a Scrappy Kinda Day!!~~Katrina

Diva Time!

I don't know about you, but it has been a heck of a week for me!  Emergency vet visits for all three dogs, which all are fine and doing better now.  They all managed to sprain a leg, with the two boys the exact same one.  Ella, on the other hand, hyper-extended hers so it was a little more severe.  Then computer hard-drive was failing, so off to buy a new one.  This has seriously cut into my scrapping time!!

BUT, the other Divas have been super, super busy and I have lots to show you.  So, lets get to it!

First up is Lea Albers.  Altered printer trays are hot right now and Lea did a fabulous job on this one with the My Lil Monsters collection.

She mounted items on foam board so that they would stand up.  Which I am loving this idea and might have to borrow it from her!  In her detail shots, you can see exactly what she did.

Next up is Linda Beeson.  She is usually a Card girl, but here she is showing us that she can create more than just cards!  She has created two layouts for us this month.  This one is with the
 It's Raining, It's Pouring collection.

Linda's Layout Removed for Publication!!!!!
Linda used her Cricut Expression on this layout.
She did the title witht the Stamping Cartridge cutting it at 2 inches.

And then she used the Storybook cartridge for her flourish cutting at 5 inches.

And then Linda used our new collection, Get Well Soon for this adorable layout.
And I love the pictures on this layout!

I love the trail of die cuts behind the ambulance!

Next up is Rae Barthel.  She has created a BUNCH of fun stuff with the School is Cool collection!!!

This pencil holder was a HIT at CHA on our Make n Take table.  You can't see it, but the pencils are glued around an empty coffee can.  We had people grabbing the pencils on the outside, because you couldn't see down in it!  Everyone was laughing about it.

And to go along with the pencil container, she created this sticky note holder.  What great back to school gifts for your kid's teachers...hee hee, or yourself!

And here is a card to go along with the gift!!

A fun little bookmark!

An altered mini composition book.  This is adorable!!

And a cute little card to give your "smarty pants" after a good day at school!

Next up we have a couple of our Internation Divas that are joining in our post today with Lea, Rae, and Linda!

First is Ria Mojica, with an fun layout about her son dressing up in costume!  I want a mask like that!

She used the My Lil Monster collection, which is PERFECT for documenting things like this!

And last but not least is Mette Kallander.  She used the Get Well Soon collection to create a layout about her sick computer.  I know how she feels in that area!!!!

We took the month of July off for the monthly challenge, but it will be back again at the end of this month.  I will tell you, there is a hint in this blog post about the challenge!!
I will let you try to figure it out!

Also, tomorrow we have a special blog posting for someone special, so please come back.  This is something that we want EVERYONE to join us in.  Look for that post on Monday!
