Diva Time!

I don't know about you, but it has been a heck of a week for me!  Emergency vet visits for all three dogs, which all are fine and doing better now.  They all managed to sprain a leg, with the two boys the exact same one.  Ella, on the other hand, hyper-extended hers so it was a little more severe.  Then computer hard-drive was failing, so off to buy a new one.  This has seriously cut into my scrapping time!!

BUT, the other Divas have been super, super busy and I have lots to show you.  So, lets get to it!

First up is Lea Albers.  Altered printer trays are hot right now and Lea did a fabulous job on this one with the My Lil Monsters collection.

She mounted items on foam board so that they would stand up.  Which I am loving this idea and might have to borrow it from her!  In her detail shots, you can see exactly what she did.

Next up is Linda Beeson.  She is usually a Card girl, but here she is showing us that she can create more than just cards!  She has created two layouts for us this month.  This one is with the
 It's Raining, It's Pouring collection.

Linda's Layout Removed for Publication!!!!!
Linda used her Cricut Expression on this layout.
She did the title witht the Stamping Cartridge cutting it at 2 inches.

And then she used the Storybook cartridge for her flourish cutting at 5 inches.

And then Linda used our new collection, Get Well Soon for this adorable layout.
And I love the pictures on this layout!

I love the trail of die cuts behind the ambulance!

Next up is Rae Barthel.  She has created a BUNCH of fun stuff with the School is Cool collection!!!

This pencil holder was a HIT at CHA on our Make n Take table.  You can't see it, but the pencils are glued around an empty coffee can.  We had people grabbing the pencils on the outside, because you couldn't see down in it!  Everyone was laughing about it.

And to go along with the pencil container, she created this sticky note holder.  What great back to school gifts for your kid's teachers...hee hee, or yourself!

And here is a card to go along with the gift!!

A fun little bookmark!

An altered mini composition book.  This is adorable!!

And a cute little card to give your "smarty pants" after a good day at school!

Next up we have a couple of our Internation Divas that are joining in our post today with Lea, Rae, and Linda!

First is Ria Mojica, with an fun layout about her son dressing up in costume!  I want a mask like that!

She used the My Lil Monster collection, which is PERFECT for documenting things like this!

And last but not least is Mette Kallander.  She used the Get Well Soon collection to create a layout about her sick computer.  I know how she feels in that area!!!!

We took the month of July off for the monthly challenge, but it will be back again at the end of this month.  I will tell you, there is a hint in this blog post about the challenge!!
I will let you try to figure it out!

Also, tomorrow we have a special blog posting for someone special, so please come back.  This is something that we want EVERYONE to join us in.  Look for that post on Monday!

Rainboots Tutorial by Diva Jen Matott

Well, I have declared tutorial week on the blog here!  I am taking over and posting projects that you, our fans, have asked how to make!

These rainboots (pictured below) were created by Design Team Diva Jen Matott for Nikki's CHA Winter booth this year.  Jen loves to alter stuff and she came up with these on her own!!  And remember these are made out of a 12 x 12 sheet of paper, so they LOOK big, but they really aren't!

Ok, here we go!  You will need to print these templates to fit an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper.  There are two templates to do this with.  When you print them, have them print with the option "FIT TO PAGE".  Your printer should have this setting somewhere when your printer box comes up.

Template Page 1

Template Page 2

Use the templates and trace your shapes onto pattern paper and then cut out.  You will then start assembling.  Jen's tip was make sure to use STRONG glue.  She also cut little strips of paper to use as the boot straps and attached them with brads.
Here are a few more pictures for visual reference while you are putting them together.

Now, if you make these boots out of Nikki Sivils papers, be sure to link it up on our Facebook wall, leave a comment here with a link to your blog where you have posted it, or email it to Julie Tucker-Wolek at  bmwgirl@cox.net.  We would love to see them!

Lots of Goodies!!

I have lots of goodies to share from some of the design team Divas!!!  I think you are going to like them!

First up Ria Mojica with a little of the "We Are Family" Collection!!  I am "mclovin'" the fact that Ronald has made his way onto the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog!

Next up we have Delaina Burns.  She used the "Beatrice" collection.  I love those rolled edges!

Then we have some wonderful projects from Jen Matott using the "Beatrice" and "Summer" Collections.

First a card with Beatrice

Next a two page layout with Summer

Then finally a cute little baby set made with Summer

Ekk...love the shoes....she found the instructions in a magazine!

And then Leah Farquharson used "It's Raining, It's Pouring" and "Max and Mollie" collections.

I am loving this banner strung on the mirror!!!

That's it for today!!  And for everyone wondering we are getting instructions for that cute little cake and present set that design team Diva, Lea Albers, did for a previous post!  We will post them here.  AND, be watching, I have in my possession the instructions to design team Diva, Jen Matott's, famous rain boots that she made for the Winter CHA booth.  I will be posting them here soon!

Ok, Blogger is Back for a Bit!!!!

Well, that was quite the Blogger fiasco!!!!  Hopefully, everything is up and going smoothly if you are reading this.  And hopefully you are able to comment!!!

First of all a little reminder that Nikki has a giveaway going on and you can read about it HERE.  She has extended the deadline because of all the blogger issues.  So, you still have a chance!  And if you left a comment before, please make sure it's still there.  Some comments were deleted and there is no way to get them back...boo.

Now, let's get to some fun projects!  I am excited that I get to share some projects from Deana Boston and Mimi Leinbach!  Love both their styles and can't wait to share what they did, so let's get to it!

Deana used It's Raining, It's Pouring on this layout!
I love that she added google eyes to Tubby the Turtle!

And how cute is this birdhouse?!  Deana used the Summer collection on it!

Mimi used the We Are Family for this adorable layout.
I love how she used the Burlap Buttons in a whimsical way at the end of her title!

Next, Mimi altered some jam jars using the Max and Mollie collection.
I wonder if I could get her to drop them in the mail to me?!
(wait...there's no jam...just beads, buttons and brads)

Well, that's it for me tonight (or today when this posts!)  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I will see you in a few days for my regular girls posting!!!!

Color Combos Galore Girls Rock "It's Raining, It's Pouring"!

I have been on the Color Combos Galore design team for a while now.  As you can probably guess, it is a challenge site about "color combos".   Some of them have been easy for me and some of them have been very difficult.  However, this last week was treat for me and the girls on the team.  We got to use one of Nikki's adorable new collections "It's Raining, It's Pouring".  Oh my goodness, I was amazed when I saw the work go up on the challenge site.  These girls absoluted rocked this collection.  Below is Inspiration Board 187.  I think it is so cool how they found umbrellas with just the right colors to tie it with "It's Raining,  It's Pouring". Now take a look at these projects the girls did with Nikki's papers!

Welcome Our Guest Designer Kerryn Lawson!

Help us give a huge welcome to Kerryn Lawson, our guest designer for March.  You can check out more of her amazing work at her blog AsterixLawsonWe are really excited about sharing Kerryn's work with you this month.  We love her sweet feminine style.  I think you will as well!  Let's see what Kerry has to say:

Hi, my name is Kerryn Lawson. I am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Nikki’s fabulous products this month.

I live in sunny.. soggy... well these days it’s hard to know, but I come from the land down under. South Australia to be exact. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for over 10 years and we have 2 gorgeous kids, a son who is almost 6 and a daughter who is almost 8.

My poor long suffering husband is the reason I caught the scrapbooking bug. He brought me a scrapbooking kit as a birthday present so that I could record memories of our first family holiday. Little did he know the chain reaction that would come as a result of that innocent birthday gift.

I do love recording moments and memories but really, for me, scrapbooking is just about being creative. I love the process of bringing photos, paper and embellishments together to celebrate a special memory or showcase a special photo.

While I don’t have as much time for scrapbooking as I used to, I still make time every day for this wonderful hobby of mine.

We are thrilled to share with you these beautiful projects that Kerryn has made for her guest spot this month.  Just take a look at them!  Can you see all the fabulous details in her work?  Kerryn used a variety of Nikki Sivils products i.e. cord brads, burlap buttons, bread(less) tabs and of course, one of Nikki's latest releases It's Raining, It's Pouring.  There is not one thing I don't love about this layout!

Now how about this layout? It is still Nikki's It's Raining, It's Pouring papers, but Kerryn has added those yellow tags and dictionary paper giving it a totally different and unique look.  Again, what a fabulous layout!

Ok, how about a card and a tag for you?

Again Kerryn used the yellow tag pulling out the yellow in Nikki's papers.  I like how she took that little element and made something her "own".

How cool is this card!  Look how Kerryn did the umbrella and boots!  The 3D effect is amazing, and then the glitter on the raindrops was just the perfect touch!

Wow, Kerryn, your work is great!  How lucky we are to have you guest design for us this month!!  Again, be sure to check out Kerryn's blog link above for more of her beatiful work.

Well, check back with us again to see what else is going on in the Nikki Sivils world.  Have a great day, and

Happy Crafting!
