A Good Bye and a Hello!!!

I have hijacked the blog today!  I wanted to post a very special good-bye to Susan Dupre, who has been the Diva's design team lead since the beginning.  She has some other things that she wants to do and we wish her all the best!  We will miss her a lot, but we all have her email so we can still bug her!!!!  Here is one of my favorite layouts from her, of course, it would have a dog in it!!!!

Since Susan left, I have taken over for her so you will be seeing (reading) more of me here! Our design team is amazing and I just want to thank them for welcoming me to the position and for all the hard work they do to create amazing projects for us to post on the blog!!!!  I also wanted to acknowledge a few members of our team that have some extra duties and do some work behind the scenes!

Which leads me to our Hello!  Since I didn't have time to do both design team lead and the social media, Sarah Eclavea is now our Social Media Coordinator!  You will be seeing her more on Facebook, Scrapbook.com, and Twitter!

And to round things out, we still have Deana Boston, who is our Retailer Program Coordinator and does fun stuff for all our retailers!!!  Here is Deana with Nikki at CHA Summer 2010.

And then we have our Julie and we LOVE our Julie! Julie Tucker Wolek is our Blog Coordinator and I don't know how she keeps it all straight, but she does.  She also LOVES her "Showcase on YOU!" to highlight YOUR work her on the blog with Nikki's fun products!!!  Here she is with Brookie, who is a frequent subject of her layouts!!!

So, there you have our good bye and hello.....And as they say..."When the cat is away the mice will play" well, in this case it's Nikki that is away on a well earned vacation...and just call me and Sarah the mice.

Here is Nikki in her hiking attire....yes, hiking!!!  She is adorable and yes, this is truly everyday, down to earth Nikki.  Dan (Mr. Nikki Sivils) posted this on her Facebook wall, so we swiped it for the Fan page and I am posting it here for those of you that don't do Facebook!

Wow, this picture got really big on here!

Ok, Blogger is Back for a Bit!!!!

Well, that was quite the Blogger fiasco!!!!  Hopefully, everything is up and going smoothly if you are reading this.  And hopefully you are able to comment!!!

First of all a little reminder that Nikki has a giveaway going on and you can read about it HERE.  She has extended the deadline because of all the blogger issues.  So, you still have a chance!  And if you left a comment before, please make sure it's still there.  Some comments were deleted and there is no way to get them back...boo.

Now, let's get to some fun projects!  I am excited that I get to share some projects from Deana Boston and Mimi Leinbach!  Love both their styles and can't wait to share what they did, so let's get to it!

Deana used It's Raining, It's Pouring on this layout!
I love that she added google eyes to Tubby the Turtle!

And how cute is this birdhouse?!  Deana used the Summer collection on it!

Mimi used the We Are Family for this adorable layout.
I love how she used the Burlap Buttons in a whimsical way at the end of her title!

Next, Mimi altered some jam jars using the Max and Mollie collection.
I wonder if I could get her to drop them in the mail to me?!
(wait...there's no jam...just beads, buttons and brads)

Well, that's it for me tonight (or today when this posts!)  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I will see you in a few days for my regular girls posting!!!!

Nikki Sivils = "Must-have products for your scrapbooking!"

Hi everyone!  Is anyone besides me wishing that we were actually having some fall-like weather?  Where I live the forecast says it's going to be close to 90 degrees all week.  Booooo for that.

But... rather than be annoyed with the above-average temperatures, I thought I'd get out my Tree Love line & scrap some photos from last year's visit to a pumpkin patch!

I used a sheet from the 6x6 paper pad for my journaling card.  I printed my journaling from Word onto the paper, added the "My Favorite Time" cut-out and then used my border punch to finish it off...

I made my own flag banner for my title using a circle punch + some baker's twine.  For my tree, I used a flower punch & just kept layering them to add some extra texture.  I ♥ Bucky the Beaver...

And... just a little shout-out here!  If you read Creating Keepsakes magazine, you may have already seen this in the current issue!  Nikki's ghost mini album made the "Latest & Greatest" column as one of the 10 must-have products for your scrapbooking!
.

I just have one thing to say...

You ROCK, Nikki!

Hugs & happy creating everyone!

Hooray for flag banners!

Just the other day, I was joking that one day I'd look back in our scrapbooks & say, "Oh yeah, that's when I was loving flag banners," because every other page in the scrapbook would have them on there in some way, shape or form. LOL! But how can you NOT love them? I, for one, was pretty happy to see that there were flag banners in the new My Friend Birdie line and have used them in many ways.
Just a small banner at the top corner helps to balance out the design on this page...
On this next one, I cut out the flags to use them as the sun's rays & then I added a mini banner to my journaling spot...

Who says you can't make a flag banner a clothes line? I'm also a bit addicted to my punches lately. That will be another thing I say to myself as I'm looking through scrapbooks in the future... "Oh & that's when I LOVED my punches!" I used punches to make my tree, the fence & even the bottom of my dress...

You don't have flag banner paper? No problem! I used my star punch & some bakers twine to make my own flag banner with the Blueberry Hill line. I'm LOVING the bright & bold color combo in that line. (And I really LOVE the clouds & suns, too!) So FUN!

Happy creating & have a GREAT weekend!

Hugs...

OWL always have fun creating with Nikki Sivils' products...

I was in the mood to make something silly recently. I'm not sure that an owl with big pink kissy lips was initially on my mind, but that was my result! My daughter's friend told me it looked more like a cat with those lips, but humor me & go along with the fact that it's SUPPOSED to be an OWL!

Want to see how I made it?

I started with my OWL mini chipboard album...... and painted it white...

I used a circle punch on my Bella, Bella paper & punches out the flowers to begin making my "feathers" (or... it could be a dress... you decide!)

I flipped up the edges of each circle to add texture...

... and then added some Burlap Buttons for the eyes, some pink lips & some more pink for the ears. Although the pink lip "cut-ups" from the Will He B The 1 line is more commonly used for love-themed pages, there's versatility in everything!

I hope you've been inpsired to create something new, in a not-so-obvious way!
OWL be back next month!
Hugs...
