Welcome DT Diva, Melissa Pablo

It has been FOREVER since I have blogged here (or on my own blog)!  But, today I am excited to share some work of one of our new design team Divas, Melissa Pablo.  Melissa has been a long time participant  of the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog here and we are excited to have her on the team this term.

The Divas are waiting on the new collections to arrive, but Melissa had some of the older collections and sent me three layouts while I was away at CHA.  I was so excited when I got these in my inbox from her!

For the first layout, she combined the following collections:
And they all worked together perfectly!

For this layout Melissa used:

And for the last layout Melissa used these collections:
Sugar Cookie, We Are Family, My Friend Birdie, and I think there is a little Gingerbread Land in there also!

I love that she combined at least three different collections on each layout, but they all went seamlessly together!  Be sure to visit Melissa's blog,
creative isay.

Also, don't forget to grab one of the new collection badges over at the side to add to your blog.  I have already picked one winner this week!!!

Give a big welcome to our November Guest Designer Liz Chidester!

A quick apology to Liz by me is due.  I should have posted her beautiful work on the 15th, but as you can see, that date has come and gone!  Sorry Liz!  Saying that, I can't begin to tell you how honored we are to have Liz as our guest designer this month!  There are so many times I have admired her work in other galleries, and now we get to share it here on ours.  Before we show off her amazing layouts, Liz wanted to share a little about herself.  Here is what she has to say:

Hello, my name is Liz Chidester. I am 32 yrs old, married to my best friend and a mother of 4 adorable children (2 boys and 2 girls). I started scrapbooking when my oldest was born about 11 years ago and I haven't stopped since. I love the creative outlet that scrapbooking brings to me and I love the opportunity to document our family's lives. I am a cake decorator by profession but I love all things crafty: painting, toll painting, home decor, and writing. I am super excited to be designing for Nikki Sivils this month, I adore all of her collections and products here.
I have a sketch challenge blog which I also use as my scrapping blog...check it out!  www.thescrappiest.blogspot.com

Now for those amazing layouts by Liz:
Liz did such a wonderful job on her layout titled 'Bee'autiful using Nikki's Willow Bee line.  Can you see she also threw in some of Nikki's cute brads and buttons?

On the layout above Liz used one of my favorite lines of Nikki's - My Friend Birdie.  Liz did a great job of incorporating one of Nikki's cut outs for her title "Best Buds".  What a cute picture that is as well.

Ok, how cute is this?  What a clever idea Liz had to use blocks of paper to mimic building blocks like those in the photo?  Again, Liz is using My Friend Birdie in this adorable layout.

Wow, what amazing layouts from Liz!  Liz, you rocked it girl.  Thank you so much for being our guest designer this month.  We are so excited to have you.  You did a fabulous job with Nikki's products.  Thank you for the wonderful inspiration.

Also, don't forget today is day 2 of the fun Holiday Hoppin' blog hop with Spellbinders!
See this post for more details and all the links!  You won't want to miss all the
fun and prizes!

Until then, happy crafting!

Well, I think it's about time to celebrate some card making!!!!

Hey everyone, Katrina here with some FABULOUS work from the Card Team and the Local Design Team!!!

I have so much to share, that I am just going to get right to it!

First up is Rae Barthel....and she has gotten a little Boo-tiful for her projects!!!!  Be sure to visit Rae's blog for all sorts of inspiration and wonderful cards....She makes these look so great and easy!!!!

How cute is that???  Rae used a piece of the Ghost Chipboard album on the front of this card!  All of Nikki's chipboard albums are 6x6 approximately, so you could use any of them for the front of a card!
And this card uses some of the Cutie Cut-Ups.  The Cut-Ups make fast work of making a card or embellishment for a page!
Let's just say I am a sucker for some gingham ribbon!!!!
This house doesn't look too spooky do you think?!

Next up, I think it's beginning to look like Christmas!!!!  The talented Linda Beeson is already getting started for the Christmas season with a couple of Christmas cards for us!!!  And Linda's blog is full of all kinds of ideas, so be sure to visit her too!  These are from the Happy Holly-Days Collection.   Take a look at these.....
Who doesn't love nutcrackers??  Linda also used Cut-Ups on her cards!!!
And Linda took the Holly Wreath circle die cut and used it for her scallops....no border punch here!!!  How great, you could take a bunch of these circle die cuts to a crop and not have to haul your entire border punch collection....not mentioning any names on who might do that.....(me!).

I am going to jump in now...because believe it or not, I have made some cards recently!!  It was World Card Making Day after all!!!  I used some of the newer collections, but I also used one of the older ones,

This is a shaker card....they are pretty easy to make and fun to shake!!!

The Ellie's Day Out collection makes sweet birthday cards!

This is from the Tree Love collection...this is one of my FAVORITES!!!  Try using a simply tag on your card as an embellishment, pop dot it for added dimension!

Blueberry Hill is so bright and cheery.  Perfect paper for a pick me up card!

Now we have Karen Taylor from the local team. Just a little more Boo-tiful going on here!!! She has created a tag and a card this time!  Karen's blog is located here.  Be sure to visit her too!
I LOVE this card!!!  That flower almost looks like it needs some water don't you think?
And what a cute vintage tag!  This would be neat to stick a gift card in for that special trick or treater!

And last, but certainly not least is Lea Albers.  Lea is from the Netherlands and she creates some amazing stuff!!  Her blog is here.
Lea has created some "PocketCards" as she calls them...now why can't I think of things like this?!  These are super cute and really easy to do!!! She used the My Friend Birdie Collection for these!  She also mixed the 12x12 papers and the 6x6 minipads!!!

Both of the cards only took a half of one of the Chirp Chat circle die cuts!!
This first card she took the half die cut and sealed it to make a pocket, then used one of the minipad sheets for the card to slip inside!
For this one, Lea took the other half of the die sheet and folded into thirds.  Super Cute!!!!  And then she used another mini pad sheet to make the card!  Lea has also used the Cute as a Button Buttons on her cards also!!!

Well, that's it from me and the girls!  I hope we have inspired you to get some Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker paper and start creating some of these fun projects!  That's it for us this month...we will see you next month with some more fun stuff!!!

Have a Scrappy Kinda Day!!

Friends and Kindred Spirits

Everytime I look at this sweet little bird, I think about a childrens show called Peep and the Big Wide World. My children and I watch it here and there, and it always makes me smile.

Hi Everyone, Erika Taylor here today with a few cards to share using the Tree Love and My Friend Birdie collections. I absolutely love how these two collections mix together. The color palette of each one of the collections are so stinkin versatile and the images, BEYOND SWEET!!!!

For this first "Friends" card, I've added a little stickles love to various parts of the card to give a little sparkle. Many of you know I'm part magpie, so this is to be expected hehe. I also cut a few different elements out of the Birdie Cut Ups and paired it with cardstock stickers from the collection, to really give some great dimension in the sentiment. Whatcha think?

Next a card using both the Tree Love and My Friend Birdie Collections together. I love that little hint of blue. Goes perfectly with those cute Blue Burlap Buttons don't ya think? The trees in the Tree Love line are truly magical. I love the whimsy they all have and figured what better statement for a beaver to make to the forest than "Kindred Spirits"

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. What is your favorite part about fall?

Until Next Time

A big Hello from France !

Hey there ! It's Michele Beck, from France !
I am here to share with you some pages. One of my fav item from Nikki Sivils, well, in fact, i love them all, but the scalloped papers are just gorgeous, and it offers soooo many ways to use it on our projects!
So, here we go :)
For this first one, i used Henry's Brilliance. I cut the scalloped paper named "Smarty Pants" and reassembled it to make a frame:

For the second one, i wanted something extremely feminine as it was a page about me. It's so rare i make that kind of page as i don't have lots of pictures of myself. It's a mix of Elie's Day Out and Dan the Record Man
I really love the paper "4 the Record" but i only wanted something blue... So, i cut out the part i wanted, and punched some little circles. Then, i cut in in two parts. Some butterflies and flowers stamps, a little of sewing, and here we have a feminine page :

And the last one, the line "My friend Birdie" was perfect for this picture of my dd Camille and our dog Elysa. I think this photo represents them in the most perfect way, always in movement, one behind the other, the other behind one, playing etc. It's a pic i took with my I Phone so the quality is not perfect, but it's so easy to keep that kind of moments of everyday life...

I love these stickers, it matches with every thing:

Et voila :) that's it for today !
i hope you enjoyed this post !
have a wonderful month every body !
love,
Michele Beck

mixing up!

Hi, I am Wendela from the Netherlands and this is my very first blogpost here at Nikki's blog! How cool! I'm so happy to work with those beautiful papers. I LOVE the colours and the Retro Style of it.

Today I mixed 3 lines.....did you find them??

Here in this layout I used Boo-tiful, a small scalopped piece, My friend Birdie and Tree love...

Look at my home made flowers! Do you like them? It's really easy to do! Grab some embroidery thread and wind I think 5 times around 3 of your fingers. Use five fingers when you love to make a large flower, and two or maybe one finger when you love a smaller one. Then make a knot in the middle, add a brown corduroy brad in the middle, shape the petals and your flower is ready for use.

And here again the three lines Boo-tiful, My Friend Birdie and Tree Love. I LOVE the small blue burlap buttons, they are so CUTE!

Thanks for stopping by,
with love from the Netherlands,
XOX Wendela
