As Design Team Divas....We Are Family!!!!

Ok, I admit it...corny, but we are showcasing the We Are Family collection today...well, some of us are....one of us is dreaming about summer and the Summer Collection and another one of is dreaming of beavers named Beatrice from the Beatrice collection!

Let's just get right to it!

 First up is Linda Beeson-She used the Beatrice collection

How adorable is that pinwheel and she used the Cute as a Button Buttons on the card also!

Next up is Rae Barthel with some We Are Family 

And on her first card she used the Warm Cord Brads, so fun!

Next up is Karen Taylor, who is loving the Summer Collection!!  

What a soft and pretty card....and she used the Cool Cord Brads!

Then we have Ms. Lea Albers...first she created an adorable housewarming card with a sheer 

and the We Are Family collection

 Then check out this mini album!!!!  I LOVE mini albums....and she did a GREAT job on this one!!!

She used the scallop mini album on this one.

 Then she used some of the same photos and made a matching 4x4 photo cube!!

And then there is little ol' me!!! I used all of We Are Family for my projects this month

And I think the owl mini album is my FAVORITE!!!!  I created this little wall hang in a matter of 30 mins or so....super quick and I can't wait to find a place to hang it! Don't forget, you can always split your mini albums up into individual pieces!!!

Well, I think it's about time to celebrate some card making!!!!

Hey everyone, Katrina here with some FABULOUS work from the Card Team and the Local Design Team!!!

I have so much to share, that I am just going to get right to it!

First up is Rae Barthel....and she has gotten a little Boo-tiful for her projects!!!!  Be sure to visit Rae's blog for all sorts of inspiration and wonderful cards....She makes these look so great and easy!!!!

 How cute is that???  Rae used a piece of the Ghost Chipboard album on the front of this card!  All of Nikki's chipboard albums are 6x6 approximately, so you could use any of them for the front of a card! 

 And this card uses some of the Cutie Cut-Ups.  The Cut-Ups make fast work of making a card or embellishment for a page!

  Let's just say I am a sucker for some gingham ribbon!!!! 

 This house doesn't look too spooky do you think?! 

Next up, I think it's beginning to look like Christmas!!!!  The talented Linda Beeson is already getting started for the Christmas season with a couple of Christmas cards for us!!!  And Linda's blog is full of all kinds of ideas, so be sure to visit her too!  These are from the Happy Holly-Days Collection.   Take a look at these.....

 Who doesn't love nutcrackers??  Linda also used Cut-Ups on her cards!!! 

And Linda took the Holly Wreath circle die cut and used it for her scallops....no border punch here!!!  How great, you could take a bunch of these circle die cuts to a crop and not have to haul your entire border punch collection....not mentioning any names on who might do that.....(me!).

I am going to jump in now...because believe it or not, I have made some cards recently!!  It was World Card Making Day after all!!!  I used some of the newer collections, but I also used one of the older ones,

Ellie's Day Out.

This is a shaker card....they are pretty easy to make and fun to shake!!!

The Ellie's Day Out collection makes sweet birthday cards!

This is from the Tree Love collection...this is one of my FAVORITES!!!  Try using a simply tag on your card as an embellishment, pop dot it for added dimension!

Blueberry Hill is so bright and cheery.  Perfect paper for a pick me up card!

Now we have Karen Taylor from the local team. Just a little more Boo-tiful going on here!!! She has created a tag and a card this time!  Karen's blog is located here.  Be sure to visit her too!

I LOVE this card!!!  That flower almost looks like it needs some water don't you think?

And what a cute vintage tag!  This would be neat to stick a gift card in for that special trick or treater!

And last, but certainly not least is Lea Albers.  Lea is from the Netherlands and she creates some amazing stuff!!  Her blog is here.
Lea has created some "PocketCards" as she calls them...now why can't I think of things like this?!  These are super cute and really easy to do!!! She used the My Friend Birdie Collection for these!  She also mixed the 12x12 papers and the 6x6 minipads!!! 

Both of the cards only took a half of one of the Chirp Chat circle die cuts!!

This first card she took the half die cut and sealed it to make a pocket, then used one of the minipad sheets for the card to slip inside!

For this one, Lea took the other half of the die sheet and folded into thirds.  Super Cute!!!!  And then she used another mini pad sheet to make the card!  Lea has also used the Cute as a Button Buttons on her cards also!!!

BooVille- My Halloween Costume Mini Book

I love Halloween.  It's so much fun and my kids always enjoy dressing up in their costumes and running around the neighborhood collecting candy.  I created this little brag book to document the special costumes that my kids have had throughout the years.  I actually only got about 6 years worth in this little book so I guess I will be making another.  

My mom, who always made me my costumes each year has continued the tradition with her grandchildren.  Each year they go to the fabric store and pick out what they want to be and the fabric to make it with.  I am so proud of my mom and her sewing abilities that I wanted to create a little book dedicated to her work each year.

Each set of pages show pictures of my kids for that year.  This was Halloween 1999.

I used Nikki's Halloween line in the 6x6 paper pad to cover the house chipboard book.  The paper pads are the perfect size for the chipboard books.  This house book cuts out really quick because all of the straight lines.

I love all of the fun cutouts too.  These are available on the 12x12 individual papers.  The small bat, pumpkins, and strip of bats are some of the cutouts that you can use.

Each one of the papers in this Halloween line is fun and perfect for any costume pictures.

This last black page will be where I will put my journaling of the stories behind each costume.  I love that the kids will know each of these stories, event the ones where they are so little that they don't really even remember the trick or treating.

Here is one of my stories.  In the picture above, my son, decided that he could deal with a sword and cape so my mom and me picked this medieval costume.  He was about 5 and I figured that this was probably the last year that I would be able to get him into tights.  (Fun story about that too but I figure that I won't embarrass him too bad on the internet.  So we told him he was Zoro and as he is running through the neighborhood we would run into people we knew and they would ask him what he was.    With a confident shout and a point of his sword he would say to anyone that asked, "I'm Zero!"  Many laughs followed.  It is these stories and more that I hope to preserve for my kids and my mom who so loving sewed each of costumes year after year.

summer celebration

Jill, here, from the Willie Bee Diva House Design Team, enjoying the hot summer dayz in Manitoba and anticipating the beautiful harvest that is quickly approaching.

I strongly believe that you should always make time for celebrating -- birthdays, anniversaries, new born babies, and the list could go on endlessly. REALLY....... I could celebrate almost anything for no particular reason.

So........ I decided to create 2 different projects for this post that celebrate 2 different events of summer celebration.

The first project is a mini fabric album created to celebrate a wonderful Sunday afternoon spent with family -- using the 6x6 mini pads: Blueberry Hill & My Friend Birdie. I also used a few stickers on the cover and some journalling stickers throughout the pages of the album. Here's a little peek:

LOVE the little chipboard journalling tag (owl) on the back page of the album. I inked it with (pink) dye ink and then whitewashed some paint onto it. A bracket and some journalling complete the album.

The second project is a party invitation created from a pocket (actually it's the packaging from some of nikki's sticker collection). I've mixed a few different lines on this invitation (new & older): Blueberry Hill, My Friend Birdie & Bella's Cutie Cut-Ups.

Using the chipboard tree shape (from the chipboard albums), I snipped off the "trunk" to create the end of a balloon. With some paper from the My Friend Birdie mini pad, a few stickers, a stamp, some doodles & journalling, I set the balloon sailing with some ribbon -- it's tied to the bottom of the balloon and then taped inside the pocket.
I created a 3D flowers and attached it to the pocket with these corduroy brads -- they rock!!!! love ALL the colours!!!! Also used my pinking shear scissors around these fabulous labels.

Blueberry Hill!!!

Greetings paper crafting peeps!!

Card #1: Thanks, You're Berry Sweet

I used papers from the 6" x 6" mini pad.
Wait until you see the sticker sheet that coordinates
with this collection... fabulous alpha stickers and darling
journaling stickers too!

Card #2: Best Friends card

Isn't that blue/white gingham pattern just sooooo cute?!
I cut out the journaling tag and the 'friends' sentiment strip,
and again used some of the fantastic alpha stickers!

Card #3: Friends are the Sunshine of Life

I again used papers from the 6" x 6" mini pad. I cut out the suns
and sentiment strip, and added a bit of bling to make this
fun, summery card!

Card #4: Recipe Cards

I made these quick and easy recipe cards using papers
from the 6" x 6" mini paper pad, and fussy cutting the
sentiment strip and blueberry cluster from the "Cut Ups" page.
Need a quick hostess gift, or want to cheer up an ailing friend?
Tie a recipe card to a fresh baked batch of blueberry cobbler or muffins,
hand deliver, and watch the smiles unfold :)

Ellie's Day Out

Hi Everyone,

Anna here with today's post. Here in the UK is glorious and I am enjoying the beautiful English Summer we are having here at the moment.

Today I am sharing some projects using Ellies Day Out. As with all Nikki's collection, "Ellies Day Out" comes with a shaped pattern paper. I love my shaped papers, which is why I "heart" Nikki Sivils!!!

On this layout of my daughter "Blooming" I used a half sheet of "Ellies Day" and layered on to 2 strips of paper; Pure Shopping, Pink is Pretty.

I love the delicate doilies out at the moment, so added a small doilies for a feminine touch.

My photo of my daughter has been mounted onto "Ellies Shoes".

I love to cluster embellishment on my layouts. I had fun cutting out lots of embellishments from the diecut sheet, "Ellies Cutie Cut Ups".

Handbags, tickets and circles were layered and clustered with chipboard flowers, pretty mulberry flowers and a chipboard birdie.

Finally I used some chipboard to make my title and layered this onto the tickets from the diecut sheet.

Here in the UK, we still have a few more weeks of school left, and all us Mum's are thinking about Teacher gifts.

I made a Thank you card and a cute giftbag that I will definitely use as a Teachers Gift this year; add a few homemade sweets/cookies and a gift card and my present is complete!

Thanks Card

I cannot waste any of my scraps, this card was made using the scraps from my layout. I cut the scallop semi circle from "Ellies Day" and added a few scrap strips onto my card with 3d foam pads. A couple of diecut shapes and a jewel adds the finishing touches.

Gift Bag

These gift bags are a staple in my house for making quick thank you gifts with a couple of homemade cookies in.

1 sheet of paper is all you need to make 2 bags! I have added a diecut handbag, a scrummy corduroy brad and a flag. Just add some pretty coordinating ribbon to tie your bag together.

Instructions :

• Trim your 12" x 12" sheet into 6" x 12"
• Now score 1 1/2" in from each side
• Next score 5" up from the bottom and from the top
• Score 2" down and 1 1/2" in, on all 4 sides
• Cut along the line to the 5" score line, and cut the 2" x 1 1/2" out.
• Ink if you want all edges at this stage
• Using double sided tape, adhere 2 of the flaps and stick to from a box
• Now lift up the 2 sides, you now have your basic cookie bag.
• I now made a flap to pop over the top of my bad, using a scalloped punch.
• I stuck the scalloped circle onto one side of the bag, and punch a hole and thread ribbon through to keep the bag closed.
• Decorate your bag as you wish :)
