Card Inspiration

Do you ever have a hard time making a masculine card? Most people I talk with will say, "Yes!" There just isn't a lot of masculine papers and embellishments out there, but the new line Dan the Record Man changes all that. I especially love the 6x6 pads for making my cards. Having the designs the right proportions for my cards really helps. For this masculine styled card I distressed the edges on my background paper to make it look even more rugged.

For my next card I broke out a special favorite of mine. I love the bright colors of this line, My Sweet Cherry Pie. In fact this was the first papers that I ever used by Nikki Sivils. The stamps that go with it are also fantastic!! For this card I used a Copic marker to color in the tree. Then I wanted the cherries on my tree to be sparkly so I stamped the cherries with Versamark and then heat set some red glitter embossing powder on it. I created the background for the tree with my Spellbinders dies and cut out the tree and pop dotted it for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope that this inspired you to make more masculine cards and to break out your stamps.
xoxo, Christine
