09/11 - never forget...

Today is the anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks on the US. Every day since that day in 2001, America was changed. We at Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker share in the sadness of that day, and we will never forget ...

I (Julie) went to a place called "The Healing Fields" yesterday evening in Tempe, Arizona.  It is a most humbling place. There is a flag and a name card for every victim lost that day. I wanted to share a few photos here from my visit.

Some of the name cards... (if you click on the images to make them larger, you can see that each person had something personal written about them, it was quite heartbreaking to read some of them....)

There was also a section for those lost at the Pentagon (the boots were donated by Luke Air Force Base)....

And there was a teddy bear placed at each flag where it was a child who's life was lost that day... very sad....

Our thoughts and prayers go out to every individual that is still fighting for our country, and for those families and friends that lost someone that fateful day.

Thank you for stopping by.

My husband & I visited the World Trade Centers in 1991/1992....and then again to Ground Zero in Dec. 2001 -- right after the towers were destroyed. I have never experience such a solemn sight. Although I am not an American citizen, I feel all your pain today. Love & Prayers to all. Great post, Julie. Thanks for the thoughtful words to all those people and families you don't even know.
