Marielle thinks School is Cool!

Keeping with the School is Cool collection is Marielle LeBlanc.  Let's she what she created for you today!

School is Cool
I created the background by punching out 16-1 1/2" circles with various papers from the School is Cool collection and then machine stitched the outer edge. I then added my photo and layers and layers of elements from this collection. I love that little owl!

Picture Day
I love all of the fun little details of this collection and the bright fun colors. This was my son's 2nd grade photo and I was happy to used up that cute photo ID journaling card for this layout.

Bookmarks
My sons LOVE to read and that makes me very HAPPY !!! I made them each a new bookmark to start the new school year ( how cute are those bookworms). I used twine from the Twinery for these.

Stacy and School is Cool, What a Combo!

Hello everyone Stacy here sharing some of my School Is Cool projects with you today.  My daughter has been back to school for about 2 weeks now. At first I was kind of lost....with herbeing a teenager I was pretty much a taxi driver all summer long.  Now it's just a ride to school and home, work on the weekends, and of course football games on Fridays. I had to figure out what to do with myself again while she was at school (can I even say I have taken a nap)!
So up first I have a little card with a touch of Ribbon Carousel twine tied around it.

I love to make little tags also, so this one is small in size which I thought was perfect for a bookmark.
I created this mini album for a friend to hold those super sweet grade school photos.  I took the photos of this without the binder rings on it.  I placed two binder rings on this about 1" down from the top and 1" up from the bottom then tied ribbon on it.  I LOVE the alphabet ribbon added to this from Ribbon Carousel, here is the cover.

Here is one of the inside pages.  I love all the little die cuts with this line, it makes making mini albums super fun and easy!

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my back to school projects.

Thanks Stacy for sharing your projects with our readers!  Be sure to visit Stacy's blog also.

School Layouts and Cards Anyone?!

Melissa is here on the blog today and she has a few layouts and a couple of cards for you.  AND one of her layouts is a very unique size! Melissa used School is Cool on all of her projects.  She loves the basic colors, the cut-ups and punch-outs.

"Enjoy Today Card" & "You Are My Star Card"
I made some cards for my two boys who will be going back to school soon just a little something to make their first day back to school fun.

"Picture Day"
This is my eldest Justin and this was his 6th grade school photo and what a great idea to do a page for each year. I added lots of layering and dimensions by using foam dots. My favorite is the school ID card and the cut-ups camera where i adhere the blue burlap button.

"First Day"
This is my youngest boy, Joseph, and this photos was taken last year his first day at Kindergarten. Lots of cutting and clusttering on this one and again using foam dots to add dimensions. The cut-up and punch outs make it easy for me to create layouts like this.

"I Know My Numbers"
Another layout using Josephs  photo from K-grade. I wanted to document how good he was doing at school and this one was when he did count and recognized all his numbers up to 100 and how cute that he gets to be the Number King that day. This is not the typical 12 x12 double page I usually do this is actually an 11 x 16 layout. Again lots of punch-outs, cut-ups and even stickers, and red burlap button on this layout.

Be sure to visit Melissa's blog for more fun projects, ideas and inspiration from her.

Also, we had some trouble with the PayPal button for The Bee's Knees Project kit.  It is fixed now, so head on over to THIS POST and check out the fun kit!

A Goody Bag, Layout, and Candy fun from Melanie

Melanie Jarocki has some fun projects today for gift ideas and a layout too!  She used School is Cool, since it is THAT time of year!!

Thanks So Much Goody Bag

I love the journaling cards in the School is Cool line. This bus one was perfect to add an SRM sentiment to thanking our bus driver with a bag of cookies. The bus punch-out was a great finishing touch. I tied the bag off with twine from The Twinery.

First Day of School Layout

My son's first day of kindergarten. He was SO excited, not only to go to school with his older siblings, but to also get to ride the bus AND take his lunch to school. What a great way to celebrate this special day with School is Cool's fun graphics and primary colors.  For a little pop, I backed the Blue letter stickers with white photo paper to help them stand out from the white background. And you know I love banners--so to mix things up I put punch-out pennants with pennants cut from the pattern paper. Twine from The Twinery and Fabri-Tac glue from Beacon Adhesives  keep the banner in place.

You're The Best Tube and Card

This ensemble is a fun way to say thank you to a teacher. I added some Reese's Pieces in the tube and topped it off with the award ribbon punch-out. The matching card includes another journaling card from the line, along with SRM sentiments and twine from The Twinery.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope Melanie gave you some fun gift ideas for those that take care of your little ones during the school year.  Be sure to visit Melanie's blog also!

School is so much Cooler with Deana!!!

Hi everyone!!! Deana is with us today with cards and a layout using the School is Cool line! Deana just ROCKS all of Nikki's collections!

"Just a couple quick cards for back-to-school time which begins for us next week.  I made card to give to a special teacher and also a card to give my daughter on her first day of middle school.  This marks a new chapter in life for her, so I wanted her to know I was thinking about her!" ~~Deana

"I like printing one large photo to use a the focal point of a page.  I kept the rest of the design pretty simple and used a small star punch to add some extra stars, as well as another dose of red, to my border strip.  Then I put the small red stars on pop dots to add some definition."~~Deana

And don't forget Nikki's card kit available for purchase this month!! It is AMAZING!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! And thanks to Deana for sharing her AWESOME creations with us!

It's Wednesday and have we got some goodies from Jodi!!

Hi everyone!

Today we have a layout and two altered projects from Jodi using the School is Cool line!! I just love these projects from Jodi!

"This line is so super cute, and it complimented my daughters last day of school picture with her teacher to a tee!  I love all the cut- ups and stickers with this collection, it was almost to hard to choose what should go on the layout, because I wanted to use them all!" ~~Jodi

"Since I run a daycare, I am constantly going through tissue boxes, after tissue boxes.  I am not crazy over the "look" of tissue boxes, and never gave it much thought until I saw a wood tissue box that I could alter and use over and over again at the dollarstore! So super excited about this project! I loved that I could decorate all four sides, and now I have a cute and suitable tissue box just for young kids!" ~~Jodi

"Finally with the first day of school quickly approaching, I thought of creating a little welcome back present for my kids teachers.  I came up with this idea after looking through my Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine and saw a TEACHER SURVIVAL KIT.  What a fabulous present for a teacher on their first day, and maybe will score some major brownie points too! Hehehe!  So here is the bag that I will be putting some survival items in:" ~~Jodi

"Inside the bag I am going to add band-aids for their boo-boo's; Tissue to wipe away their tears;  a kit-kat chocolate bar- because she will need a break;  a marble- for when she looses her's!; Smarties- because that's who she is teaching;  A Gift Card for her Coffee Breaks.  I might try and add a few more things as I think of them too!  I am so glad I got a head start on this, it will make the perfect gift!"~~Jodi

Thanks for sharing these awesome creations with us Jodi!! Just love them all!! Thanks for stopping by!

And don't forget Nikki's card kit available for purchase this month!! It is AMAZING!!!!

It's Thursday and Laurel is in the house today!

Hi everyone! We have some amazing projects to share from Laurel today! This girl is just AWESOME! I always love her creations!

"Hi everyone, Laurel here.  I hope you are all enjoying your summer.  I sure have it has been a busy one with one vacation after another!  I am looking forward to a couple of quiet days at home though!
For my first 2 projects I used the new Summer collection to make a couple of summer themed cards.
This first one is a super simple card that could be used for any summer occasion.  The sentiment is from The Stamps of Life.
Flip flops are definitely a sign of summer and when I saw the pink and yellow papers in the collection, I thought of flip flops.  I used a template from The Cutting Cafe.  I adhered the pieces using my Zip Dry from Beacon before sewing and finally, embellished with some rhinestones from Want2Scrap.

Next up I have some Exit Here projects.
Our first vacation was a trip to Alberta, of course I took a lot of photos and am happy to say that I have now scrapped some of them!  I did a 2 page layout, the sketch is an older Sketch Support sketch, as this is for my daughter's album and she likes 2 pagers with lots of photos.
Finally, another summer staple is lemonade so I used the Exit Here collection to make this fun lemonade shaped card.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches." ~~Laurel

How stinkin' cute cute cute are Laurel's shaped cards!!??!!??!!??
