Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker and Ribbon Carousel Blog Hop

Is hopping with Ribbon Carousel today!

We usually do not "hop" just swap, so it's a little different for us today!  All of our designers have some fun projects for you to see along the way.  And I am sure those Ribbon Carousel girls have some great projects also.

There are some prizes involved so be sure to comment on everyone's blog postings to be eligible.  We have an InLinkz at the end of the post to make it easier for you to hop along with us.

Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker will be giving away a collection kit of the winner's choosing and Ribbon Carousel will be giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to the Ribbon Carousel Store!  Winners will be announced on Saturday night at 8:00 PM Eastern time.  So you have a couple of days to get thru everyone's blog and comment to be eligible to win.

We are so excited because Nikki got to play along with us this time.  She made an adorable matchbook mini album out of the Exit Here collection.  This a perfect way to make a mini without having a chipboard album.  (Maybe we can get her to do a tutorial on here?!)

The ribbon package that we received to work with went perfect with Exit Here.

How cute!  Now, if I can just find the time to make all these projects I want to make.  Could someone please find it for me, because I cannot seem to!

Ok, the InLinkz is below.  Make sure to hop and comment on everyone's blogs and projects.  We will announce the winners on Saturday.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Stacy and School is Cool, What a Combo!

Hello everyone Stacy here sharing some of my School Is Cool projects with you today.  My daughter has been back to school for about 2 weeks now. At first I was kind of lost....with herbeing a teenager I was pretty much a taxi driver all summer long.  Now it's just a ride to school and home, work on the weekends, and of course football games on Fridays. I had to figure out what to do with myself again while she was at school (can I even say I have taken a nap)!
So up first I have a little card with a touch of Ribbon Carousel twine tied around it.

I love to make little tags also, so this one is small in size which I thought was perfect for a bookmark.
I created this mini album for a friend to hold those super sweet grade school photos.  I took the photos of this without the binder rings on it.  I placed two binder rings on this about 1" down from the top and 1" up from the bottom then tied ribbon on it.  I LOVE the alphabet ribbon added to this from Ribbon Carousel, here is the cover.

Here is one of the inside pages.  I love all the little die cuts with this line, it makes making mini albums super fun and easy!

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my back to school projects.

Thanks Stacy for sharing your projects with our readers!  Be sure to visit Stacy's blog also.

And don't forget Nikki's card kit available for purchase this month.

Stacy on Wednesday

Stacy here sharing some projects using Nikki's Summer line.  This line is so bright and fun, simply perfect for those summer photos.

My first project is a gift card holder and the inspiration came from my daughter.  She got her first job this summer at the best ice cream place here in the midwest. I thought this was a super cute way to give an ice cream gift card complete with an ice cream cone on the front!  By the way did you know that July 15th was National Ice Cream Day....as yes I had an oreo malt :) Embellishing this little hold is a burlap button, cord brad, and some twine from The Twinery.

Coolin' off is all part of summer fun, and this layout is showing just how much fun it is for the little ones to cool off.  I love those little camera's, super cute and fun to add to any layout.  I used some of the burlap buttons across the top along the banner.  The clouds on the top of the layout came from cutting out the cloud from one of the papers in the line, then I simply traced it onto the layout.

My last project I have to share with you is a little mini album.

Now the inside of the album is not complete yet.  My daughter is going on vacation with her friend and friends parents to Cobin KY next week.  I'm a little nervous.....ok very nervous that she will be so far away but I know she will have a great time.  I wanted to create a little thank you for the parents so i'm just waiting on the photos they will give me after the trip.  For this album I mixed 3 of Nikki's chipboard albums.  The covers and one insert are from the scallop square album.  I painted the edges of this one with pink paint.  Inside you will find a couple of pages from the crown & house mini albums.  I placed them in the album sideways so i'm excited to see how it turns out.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you are all having a fabulous summer!

I am loving that idea of mixing the chipboard albums!  Be sure to visit Stacy's blog!

A Fun Mini Album with Exit Here and Melissa

Melissa Pablo created this adorable mini album, so we decided to give it it's own post!  She has lots of details and fun pictures thru out the entire album.  She used the Exit Here collection and the Scalloped Chipboard album pieces.

Las Vegas Road Trip Mini Album

This was a fun project to make using the Exit Here collection. This photos were taken last February when we went on a 24-hour back & forth road trip to Las Vegas. I used the scallop chipboard albums and also added a couple of extra pages so i can include all my fave photo from that day.

Melissa had SO much eye candy in this mini, that we didn't post a few of the pages, but she will have them on her blog!  So make sure to check the entire mini album out over there!  (she is making me want to do a mini right now!)

The Twinery and Nikki Sivils Blog Swap Day One!

Today is the first day of a two day event with The Twinery.  The Twinery has some of the best, most fun, and colorful baker's twine out there and we are happy to be doing this swap with them.  They were recently featured on the Martha Stewart show also!

Both companies are having giveaways each day also!  So, see the bottom of this post for details on how to win!

Also, be sure to visit the Diva's blogs for additional pictures and projects that may not be posted here!

Our Diva's were sent the Ultimate Sampler pack to play with and they have some up with some fun creations combining Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker products and The Twinery baker's twine.

First up is Diva Melanie Jarocki with an adorable friendship card using the Audrey collection.

I used Peapod and Pink Sorbet twine to stitch around the hearts. For the sentiment border, I used Lemondrop twine. All three of these colors matched the Audrey collection perfectly!

Diva Jodi Wilton is here with her adorable Easter theme layout titled, My Little Bunny.  Jodi used the Exit Here collection for this!  And she also used the Cute As A Button burlap buttons.

I absolutely LOVE working with The Twinery twine, and for this layout I was determined to use a few different techniques with twine on my layout.  I started with the idea of making grass out of twine. I took double sided tape, and looped it up and down at various lengths to create the idea of grass. I then thought of the whiskers on the bunny.  To make the flower center, and bow center. I added double sided adhesive sheet to cardstock, and punched out a small circle. Then I wound the twine, starting in the center of the circle. I trimmed off with my scissors any remaining cardstock showing. I wound twine around the stem (or mini dowel) too!

A close up of that cute bunny and those EGGS!!!  Perfect paper to create striped eggs with!

Next up is Stacy Rodriguez and she has a cute mini book with Exit Here also!  Stacy is doing  double duty as she is also a member of The Twinery design team!  She has additional pictures on her blog, so be sure to check it out!

I simply LOVE this line since we hang out at my parents camper at the lake during the summer time.  Using the North Pole Nights album made this project a breeze.  This mini has room for some of those fun camping photos along with room to journal.  It's held together with 2 jump rings, which I wrapped in Buttercream & Shore twine from The Twinery.  The banner along the top is held together with Cappuccino twine.

I also wanted to make sure I placed the lot number of the camper on the fun little sign.  The Peapod twine was a perfect accent around the bottom of the sign. Helmar 450 quick dry glue is what I used to hold the twine in place.

And here is Jennie McGarvey with an easy layout to create using the Noah collection and The Twinery Baker's Twine.

I created a grid and hand sewed with the twine. I filled in with photos and paper -- plus my favorites, the burlap buttons.  I really wanted to let them speak for themselves, so I added them in blank spaces!

Ms. Julie Tucker-Wolek is our next Diva and she is using the Messages collection.  She made  a "hanging element" on her layout.

So, you want to know what the giveaways are right?!
